Bloody Next sizing

Went in today and tried a few things on. I was with my daughter who reminded me I liked a dress as I walked in the shop so she popped and got it for me. They only had a size 6 but I tried it on anyway. It only went and fitted!

I am 5'7 and just short of 10 stone. I'm trying to get back to 9 stone as all the size 10s in my wardrobe are a bit snug on me when I'm at this weight as I carry it all around my middle.

Vanity sizing is so ridiculous. It's not that it was the only dress as I tried 4 on in a mixture of size 8 and 10 and they were so big it was silly.

I wish shops would get their act together, if I was in primark and put a size 6 on I'd be luckily to get my little toe into it!

Size and they were fine but I have ordered tops that have swamped

I don’t find a problem with their sizing. In fact I’m usually a 16 in Next, bought a size 16 shirt in Primark and it’s far too big.

A lot of stuff is oversized at the moment, it's difficult to know what size to buy. For fitted clothes I find they're ok, but I ordered an oversized top recently which was like a tent - it stood out stiffly and I probably could have sized down five times.

@Numbat2022 I don't think either of these are oversized though. I've attached two pictures, the shirt dress fitted me in a size 6 and the more denim one drowned me in a 10.

Just thinking of my slim 16 year old, 5'6 and 7 stone, she'd not have a hope in Next (not that she would want to wear their clothes). I suppose it's to flatter my middle aged spread 🤣
