Fabletics…argh..

So I’ve just discovered Fabletics has been taking money out my account for months without me noticing. I accept it’s entirely my fault, I bought something on discount and didn’t realise what I was signing up to. It’s super annoying and clearly they don’t make it clear…but ultimately it’s my fault. I’m skint and getting divorced and furious with myself and so upset, but my bad. C’est la vie, I suppose.

Anyway - before I cancel my unwanted bloody VIP membership, does anyone know if I a) the cancellation genuinely will be easy and straightforward as they claim and b) can I spend any of the massive amount of money I have unwittingly given them or is that now dead?

I'd try to get them to refund some. How much are we talking about?

dementedpixie · 11/08/2022 13:43

If you do not skip the month, you’ll be charged £54.99 for a Member Credit on the 6th of the month, which can be redeemed for any outfit or item worth up to £80 on the site or in-store. We will never automatically ship you products if you do not skip the month.

You can always call our customer service at 020 36953 831 (Mon-Fri 8:00am-8:00pm, Weekends: 10:00am-6:00pm) to get refunded as a one-time courtesy, or hold onto the Member Credit and use it later! Unused Member Credits expire after 12 months of purchase—but don’t worry, we’ll remind you!

Gotanewname · 11/08/2022 13:52

They’ve never reminded me. This has been going on months for several hundred quid. Can I only use this month’s credit or can I use it all? I can’t even find how much credit I might have.

Also that phone line doesn’t actually work.

It's the number shown on the website

Looks like they have live chat too

I don't know the answer to some of your questions but I bought some stuff and only realised afterwards it is a subscription service etc. I immediately contacted them and cancelled the order and subscription and true to word it was processed and cancelled straightaway with no issues.

liveforsummer · 11/08/2022 18:28

It's made very very clear. I signed up last month and it couldn't be clearer all the way through. Plus they send reminders and step by step guides how to skip your month. Unfortunately I ended up forgetting on month 1 but called them and pleaded innocent. They did refund seeing it was my first month and I told a lie and said I had so they filed it as technical error on account of being new. No chance you'd get that for several months though i don't think. You can absolutely spend the credit though. Just go on your account. It's explained very simply

abovedecknotbelow · 11/08/2022 18:30

Yes it's easy to cancel, use the live chat. I've just forgotten to skip as I was on holiday and they have refunded me straight away. I got an email to say that I had a member credit though, have you not had that?

liveforsummer · 11/08/2022 18:36

Emails might go to junk. I ended up having to phone for the refund as the live chat told me they did not have full access to Uk accounts. You can get info on orders and can skip but they make it a bit harder to clacks or get refunds so you need to call. I rang when yesterday so the phone line definitely works

figgyputty · 11/08/2022 18:43

It's common knowledge they are a subscription based service and it is clear when signing up. Log on to your account and you'll see how much you have in credit. Credits expire after 12 months so you should be able to use them to purchase anything on the website...whole outfits or single items. Canceling is easy/straightforward

Isonthecase · 11/08/2022 18:52

I found it very easy to cancel. Might be worth calling and seeing if they can refund some for not understanding correctly then spending the rest of your credit? It's pretty good clothing anyway, you could do a lot worse for leggings.

Gotanewname · 11/08/2022 18:54

Have logged in and not clear how many credits I’ve got.

I don’t think it is that clear…no way would I sign up for it had I realised. I do get that it’s my fault because I’ve missed a box or whatever and have to take it on the chin, but didn’t know it was a subscription service (had never really heard of them tbh).

Have searched my email account and have never had anything in emails setting this out, telling me to skip etc. I have had other general marketing ones though. I have cancelled now and have had an email confirmation so fingers crossed…have managed to negotiate a semi refund which is a result though I will still have a load of credit which is not great as I didn’t rate the stuff…hence I’ve never ordered again after first two pairs!

That's a shame! Could you try ordering a few bits and selling on or seeing if any of your friends want to buy some of your credit?

Thestoppedfan · 11/08/2022 19:18

You can cancel it online now rather than ringing or online chatting- don’t use the app go on it on your browser and it’s in your account part.

Ive done this before and it’s so annoying I ended up ordering loads of different stuff for Christmas presents for people- the hoodies are so comfy. You can recoup a bit on eBay they tend to sell pretty well on there.

hewouldwouldnthe · 12/08/2022 10:26

Nearly caught me the same but I read the small print.

doobedooboom · 12/08/2022 10:48

Happened to a friend of mine and I used the credits to buy some stuff I wanted - worth asking around

pastypirate · 12/08/2022 10:54

Can you just order stuff to the value of the credit and return it for a refund?
