FatFace trouser sizing

Does anyone know if FatFace trousers, the chinos in particular, tend to be large or small fitting?
I'd say I'm a size 17 on the bottom which obviously doesn't exist and not sure whether to go 16 or 18.
Thanks

Fatface sizing is generally huge, but for me trousers have been more true to size.

Yes, I’d agree with QuickQuestionNotAZombie

Ive found trousers generally true to size. Other clothing can run big

Thanks. The ones I want have some stretch so I'll try the 16.

I think they always put their models in a size too small, so all shorts and trousers on the site look really tight and restrictive. In reality they're fine, a touch on the large side but I can still get away with my own size without issue. If you are between sizes, choose the lower one. I am always happy with FF quality, at least with basics, not too fond of the trend based stuff (flouncy frocks) but their hoodies/jeans are the most robust on the market!

Glad I stumbled on this thread! I'm looking to order some chinos in the sale but can't decide on sizing, and for some reason the reviews which are usually so helpful seem to have disappeared from the FF site?! Does anyone know how much the chinos stretch with wear? I'm currently wearing FF jeans in an 8 which fit me perfectly, but suspect I might need a 10 in anything less stretchy

Actually I think recently FatFace sizes seem to have gotten a bit smaller. Haven't bought anything for a couple of years but recently tried a few things on and I noticed I need a size bigger. I haven't put weight on either.
