Face makeup on holiday

Do you wear foundation/bb cream when your on holiday?
Have seen lots of instagrammers/influencers online doing full faces of makeup when they are on holiday abroad. I can't think of anything worse as I just imagine it running off me when I'm sweating!!!

I put on tinted moisturiser in all weathers, always lasts quite well in hot weather but I don’t go on beach/pool holidays. I wouldn’t wear it around a swimming pool.

I wear makeup at night/for air conditioned days out on holiday but not foundation. Usually just brow gel (on top of tinted eyebrows), mascara, and the same blusher on my lips and cheeks. It’s battling with my hair in the heat I usually need to focus my time on!

Arnaquer · 10/08/2022 06:51

Mascara in the day.
In the evening under eye concealer , eyeshadow, mascara, bronzer and lipstick.
Never foundation

Mrcpy · 10/08/2022 07:17

On holiday now. Just using SPF, lipstick and brow powder.

Justkoko · 10/08/2022 08:01

Just a touch of rosalique, then a dab of cream blush on cheeks and eyelids, swipe of mascara and tinted spf lip balm. This is in the evening. During the day it's just spf all the way as I'm in and out of the pool.

adhdforme · 10/08/2022 08:05

I wear everything I normally would (sunscreen, foundation, concealer, powder, blush, bronzer), but sometimes don't bother with my eyeshadow, based etc and just do liner and mascara vm because most of the time I'd be wearing sunglasses so no one would be able to tell.

TheBikiniExpert · 10/08/2022 08:09

No

Lordofmyflies · 10/08/2022 08:38

Nope. I put on Alumeir MD Moisture matte which is a 40SPF with a tint and little coverage. Does two in one!

AuntieMarys · 10/08/2022 08:39

I don't tan at all, so normal makeup in the evening. Just suncream during the day

gogohmm · 10/08/2022 13:02

No, but then I don't in the U.K. I take basics for the evenings if I can be bothered

RampantIvy · 10/08/2022 14:16

Do those of you who wear make up go swimming with a full face of make up?

chipsandpeas · 10/08/2022 14:25

during the day dont wear make up - might put some on at night but sometimes i cant be arsed

I don't do swimsuits and pools, and don't really like lounging by a pool all day. I find it in red oboe boring, so I tend to go on city breaks and wander around looking at the sights. On the rare occasion I have gone swimming I do wear all my makeup and just change to waterproof mascara. But I never purposely put my face in. So it's just in case I get splashed

mondaytosunday · 10/08/2022 23:09

Well if I was going to be on instagram seen by thousands I might put a bit of makeup on too! But normally? I rarely wear it at home since covid I'm certainly not wearing more than sunscreen on holiday.

PeacheyPeach · 11/08/2022 00:05

I do like the idea of the tinted moisturiser hadn't even given that a thought. I'm not as glowy looking as I'm getting older and I might need a bit of help come the evening!!

I think face bronzng powder over Factor 50 Sun tan lotion along with eyebrow pencil plus lipstick would be sufficient.

I look horrific in the tropics as my hair goes all frizzy but a small amount of Moroccan Argan oil would assist.

I've raved about it before on here, but Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue is fantastic for glowiness and just a bit of cover over redness and blemishes. Once it's on you don't feel it on your skin and it has to be physically removed at night - can swim and sweat away in it all day.

It's not heavily moisturising so I find it enough for hot weather as it doesn't make me oily - in cooler climates I have to pop a cream on any dry skin underneath.

upliftingtwisting · 11/08/2022 07:53

Nothing during the day and very minimal at night so tinted moisturiser, cream blush, cream bronzer, gel for my brows and mascara.

I have tried having my brows and lashes tinted but it never lasts more than a day or two on me.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 11/08/2022 07:54

No, in the evening a touch of powder on shiny bits and a slick of lip gloss does me. In the day time suncream only.

poppypetal · 11/08/2022 17:55

I usually feel naked without makeup, but I've just come back from abroad and I tried something new. I spritzed some St Tropez face mist every night before bed (over the top of my moisturiser) and then I used Tropic tinted factor 50 suncream (in the dark shade to give more colour), and I have to say I really liked it. I didn't feel like I needed any additional make up for day time and had the added bonus that I didn't feel like I was clogging up my pores which I normally do!

poppypetal · 11/08/2022 17:56

Sorry, that's confusing....I used the Tropic tinted suncream in the mornings, not before bed. Only the face mist before bed!

RampantIvy · 11/08/2022 17:58

The Tropic tinted suncream sounds brilliant.

PeacheyPeach · 12/08/2022 11:54

Oo that sounds lovely @poppypetal . I will take a look and buy some of that. Does it come as an after sun aswell do you know?

poppypetal · 12/08/2022 12:11

I’m not sure @PeacheyPeach ? The only negative about Tropic is that it’s a bit like Avon and you need a ‘rep’ to buy the stuff for you. You can’t just nip to Boots and buy for yourself. That being said, I stumbled across the brand at my daughters school fayre and I’ve tested a few bits from them and I’m really impressed. I think if you go on their website, it’ll put you in touch with your nearest rep, so it should be pretty straight forward.

PeacheyPeach · 12/08/2022 12:15

@poppypetal oh of course if it's tropic I would have to buy it through the rep wouldn't I. Maybe I will look for an equivalent in boots!
