Please could you tell me your best tips for youthful looking skin? I would love to make my skin look younger. so far I have been
-drinking 2-3 litres of water a day
-wearing 50+ suncream everyday
Has anyone got any more good tips for young looking skin?

This is on top of all the obvious regarding sunscreen, tretinoin etc.

Eat lots of raw veggies and berries especially green leaves and try to keep a steady weight; big increases/decreases in weight can mean the skins loses some elasticity. If you need to lose weight or put on weight do it gradually so you skin can adjust.
Smoking is terrible for the skin (and voice) as is much alcohol

Lots of water and limiting my sugar intake works for me.

As does a little help in the way of a small amount of Botox...makes me look much younger and fresher!

SPF and Skin+me. Use the link to try a month for just 3.50 p&p

I've been using skin+me for two years now and my skin looks amazing even if I do say so myself! I think it's the Tretinoin. I use it daily at night and in the day I just use Garniers vitamin c serum and Ambre solaire SPF 50. I sometimes use Cerave moisturising cream at night too but I have oily skin so usually just use my skin and me doser. The customer care with them has been great and you can stop, delay or pause your subscription at anytime really easily online.

thanks!

For those who used Tretonin (Retin A) - how do you use it etc?

Not sure I want to do a subscription service with Dermatica.

I thought that too.how can I get started with using tretonin?

Factor 50 and tretinoin. The cheapest way is to buy online from a European pharmacy if you don't want a subscription.

Spf every single day rain hail or shine
tretinoin
after that you can add niacinamide, vitamin c, hyaluronic acid and aha/bha chemical exfoliants if you wish. But if nothing else, do the first two 🙂

Day time:
Cleanser > toner> vit C serum > salicylic serum > eye cream > moisturiser > SPF (preferably 50).

Loads of water, minimise junk food and alcohol.

Night time
Cleanser > toner> vit C serum > salicylic serum > eye cream > moisturiser > (retinol 2-3 times a week gradually building up)

You don't need the expensive brands. I use boots own brand they range between £4-£7.
I do use Cerave moisturiser worth the money.

You could potentially add hyaluronic acid can get it in the serum form if you wanted to add this into your skin care routine.

I find exfoliating or any acids alongside Tret hurts my skin barrier, so it really is different strokes for different folks. No two people have the same skin.

For me, the skin and me percentages of Tret are very low compared to Dermatica but I didn't have any adverse reaction to Tret at all so I might have quite tolerant skin. I had used Medik8 Crystal retinal for a year prior. There's a good fb group for Tret users

Cotswoldmama · 06/08/2022 07:05

I agree tret and acids and exfoliating don't mix. I would say I have quite tolerant skin but with skin + me I got to 0.03% and found my skin started peeling and becoming more sensitive so I contacted their customer support and they replaced my doser straight away for free with a lower dose of 0.027 which has been perfect. At the start I was really excited to get a stronger and stronger strength but now I realise that this is the perfect strength for my skin and I definitely see a difference. I'm so glad I didn't go online and buy the 0.5% or 1% I found on Amazon as I think it would have burnt my skin off!

I do face yoga - the app facejoy is really good it does make a difference

I went out last night and 24/25 year olds thought I was the same age as them (I am not)

thanks can anyone recommend a foundation that is natural looking and makes your skin look youthful?
I sleep about 9 hours (go to very early), drink 2-3 litres of water a day and exercise a lot. I have thought about going to get some kind of antiaging treatment but I am scared of it going wrong

I like Maybelline dream urban cover it's got factor 50 spf I use it on top of proper SPF for extra protection! It's really thin and a little seems to go a long way but I do like just a light coverage. I've also noticed that max factor powder in the gold case has spf so when I run out of my current one I'll be buying that too!
