Least damaging, most nourishing etc to cover greys.

I like L'Oréal and Schwartzkopf. L'Oréal stains the skin less but I find it runnier so it is messier to apply. Schwartzkopf stains more but much easier to apply.

Both leave my hair feeling really good. I don't have any grey so can't comment on grey coverage.

I've recently shifted to Josh Wood. It's twice the price of the others but it leaves a real shine on my hair and the colour has much much more depth, it's worth the bump in price

been using John Frieda foam for about 20 years, so easy to put on and doesn’t do as much damage as other dyes

L'Oreal for teflon hair like mine. But I'm going for jet black, so might be different if you want a more natural look.

I use eSalon. They mix a colour for you: you send photos of yourself and tell them what you want. They are very good and I haven't noticed any damage at all. About £20.

Olia is good for minimal damage (and a way less gross smell)

I've been dyeing my hair for the last 15 years and I can thoroughly recommend Superdrug's own brand ten minute permanent dyes

I love John Frieda too. Foam, easy to use.

Clairol natural instincts is the only one that effectively covers my grey

BOOTS52PollyPrissyPants · 30/07/2022 21:04

I switched to Naturtint permanent many years ago as it truly covers all grey, has no chemicals and does not give me itchy scalp and makes my hair lovely & glossy and lasts longer than other brands. Can get online or in any health shop. A lovely tube of conditioner comes that lasts a few washes.

I second eSalon

John Freida foam ones are amazing and super easy to use.
