Antiperspirant not working anymore!

I've turned into a sweaty bastard! I'm not peri I'm 29 and I've lost a large amount of weight so I should be sweating less. I've used sure advanced protection and rightguard extreme both have stopped working. Used to use mitchum but find it wasn't as good. Can anyone recommend a good one getting embarrassed at the wet patches. Thank you.

Try the sure or dove maximum protection cream ones. They come in a box

WeeM · 28/07/2022 21:14

Hands down the Mitchum stick that comes in the cardboard box as well as washing with a good old fashioned bar of soap-game changer for me!

dementedpixie · 28/07/2022 21:19

I dont rate mitchum tbh

MichaelAndEagle · 28/07/2022 21:23

I had the same issue and following recommendations on here used Odaban. You put a tiny bit on at night, wash it off in the morning and it really reduced how much I sweat.
Its so embarrassing isn't it. I hate it, some people seem to barely sweat.

Have a look at this.

moogooskincare.co.uk/fresh-cream-deodorant-120?gclid=Cj0KCQjw54iXBhCXARIsADWpsG-g3rGhMNhDpZ5_P6q0dSeTwA-50UljyvbGkbMC4uEPVou-vr3fjv4aAvypEALw_wcB

I made the switch from anti perspirant deodorants a few years back. I was using strong ones too and found they didn’t work and irritated my armpits. A week of being a bit nervous in the transition and I’ve not used anything but since.

Yes these, follow the instructions though they are best on at night after a shower

FluffingMarvellous · 28/07/2022 21:56

Do those organic moo goo ones really work?

CornishTiger · 28/07/2022 22:00

They do for me. Even in the hottest part of the heatwave I wasn’t smelly even when I felt sweaty.

I also aim to wear 100% cotton when really hot.

CornishTiger · 28/07/2022 22:03

I do remember the full transition was in the autumn. I alternated between Mitchum one day then moo goo for a few weeks end of Sept one year building it up to mostly moo goo then I went for it.

I still got unused Mitchum I should donate tbh. I won’t use it. My daughter is going to be needing deodorant soon. I’ll start her on moo goo.

we use the shampoo and conditioner as only thing that doesn’t irritate our scalps.

apapuchi · 28/07/2022 22:18

Have you tried something like Perspirex? It's a very strong roll on you use at night on clean and dry armpits. It can sting. You then use it at different frequencies per instructions. I am breastfeeding and got really sweaty and smelly through the night. This has been my saviour, it's amazing but not the thing if you want gentle or natural.

I tried the Mitchum strong ones and deodorants and found they made me smellier than usual throughout the course of the day, as did my husband who I'd bought the 'male' version of on a 2x1 offer with mine.

LookdeepintotheParka · 28/07/2022 22:21

The MooGoo one is excellent - it takes a while to dry but very effective.

I also rate Body Shop Aloe roll on but know BS is an unpopular recommendation on MN!

MrsOwainGlyndŵr · 28/07/2022 22:32

I use men's deodorant. It's much better

Loocheeyar · 28/07/2022 22:35

Hyoerhidrosis sufferer here , I praise the lord ( or mn !) for odaban
never spray after shaving
put it on a cotton wool pad first then gently very lightly wipe over once ns build up from there as it stings like a bastard at first
hydrocotrisone cream helps to soothe
you will need deodorant also maybe to feel safe

I was suffering bad sweating, much worse than normal. Turned out it was a side effect of the anti depressant I was on. Once I didn’t need the sertraline anymore, and came off it in a planned way with advice from my doctor, I stopped the excessive sweating. Just mentioning it as I had no idea until an Instagrammer mentioned it, and it explained it!

thewaitislong · 28/07/2022 23:01

Nuud was a game changer for me. I haven't been smelly in 2 years - initially I couldn't believe sweat can be odour free. (Did have to deal with the adjustment period for a few weeks of being super smelly when I came off normal deodorants. It was during Covid lockdown so not being around other people was useful in that phase 😂). But once my body adjusted, there's no looking back.

This is weird as I've started back on sertraline about 3 weeks ago on a lower dose but previously never had that side effect on a higher dose !!??

Mitchum always works for me

princessbear80 · 30/07/2022 17:47

They could be linked. I had been on it once before with no side effects, but the second time I had horrendous sweating. I didn’t link the two for ages. Had I realised sooner, I think I’d have stayed on the sertraline anyway, and got my mental health sorted. Hope you’re ok Flowers

Triple dry from boots, I like the roll on best. Pespirex but it itches like made, works though
