I'm in a pickle! My hair was dark brown 2 years ago and I decided to go red. I didnt want to use bleach so used vitamin c tablets instead which stripped some colour. It obviously turned out dark red to begin with but the more I used the box dye the more brighter it became somehow. I managed to get to a nice light red and decided I fancied a change and go purple. I used a box dye a lovely purple and it turned my hair black with a tint of purple...nothing like the box. I then used live 3 level lift ultra violat which has added more purple but its still really dark and I don't know how since the red was so light. Had anyone used and box dye on dark hair and managed lift it with purple. I'm gutted it took me ages gey to a nice light colour. Thanks
