Shopping trip for tween boy

Hi! My 12 year old DS has saved up for a (not online) clothes shopping trip - he wants to look cool (not sports clothes- he has plenty!). I’m thinking H&M kids, Zara (online has a fab range and spot on style wise but he wants the in- person shopping experience) and Mango.
I was thinking of the Bullring in Bham but with the commonwealth games the traffic might be horrendous this weekend (our only window to go really). London is a fair trek so would be a last resort.
Any pointers for shopping centres/ high streets that tick the boxes? I am Midlands based but happy to travel within reason.

oh, I’ve recently been to Oxford that has both Zara and Mango but the kids range was small. Thank you!

Solihull has H&M, superdry, river island, John Lewis and quite a few others.

I suppose it depends on your son's style but my Ds is 11, nearly 12 and he really wouldn't choose those shops. Ask him what his friends are wearing. I'm in my early 30s and might go there for things for myself.

He'd want Nike (270 trainers and a tech fleece are most coveted items apparently), champion, Nicce and lacoste for tshirts, also Adidas originals and North Face.

A skin fade buzz cut was also the hairstyle requested.

Bristol could be good if you're willing to travel. I do find though that a lot of these shops have much more online than they do instore for children/tweens.
