How shall I get my hair cut tomorrow? It's long, all one length, brown, totally straight. I've got a fringe and wear glasses. Need to keep the fringe to cover dark pigmentation I can't shift. And glasses, to see...!

Havng had a bit of a scalping (hair was shortish anyway)I would definitely recommend you do in stages.

Would be very helpful if you posted a picture. Short hair can be a bit of a pain in the butt. You cannot tie back, or scrape back and it almost always needs washing and styling every day otherwise it sticks up!

Reluctantadult · 27/07/2022 17:20

That's enough to put me off short, I only wash it every 3 days and barely style 😆

Then honestly I would leave as is and perhaps look at a few You Tube videos for some styling ideas for special occasions.

Reluctantadult · 27/07/2022 18:17

It's too heavy and I've got too much going on around my face 😆

A picture always helps here. I stuck one up otherwise it’s hard to advise

Just feel like a donk doing it!

I'm having mine coloured and cut tomorrow and in same boat.

Mine is shoulder length, have fringe and it's all one length.

Thinking of going back to a long bob that's shorter at the back so I keep more length at sides. Used to have this way about 2 years ago.

I need to keep fringe as I have scarring from surgery plus pigmentation.

Hoping that it will help with styling it better along with the Revlon One Step I've just ordered.

Reluctantadult · 27/07/2022 18:31

Mine is boob length. Shoulder length is an option I'm considering so if you're having the same thoughts @Coastalcreeksider then maybe that's not the answer... Layers?

I did ask about layers to my hairdresser but she thought it would make my hair harder to style and would get on my nerves as it grew out. I'd probably have to have it cut more often too.

My hair did style really well with the graduated bob I used to have, the back always looked really nice and sleek and shiny and dried so much quicker too. 10 minutes compared to 25 minutes the length it is now.

This is what I'm thinking of having

@Reluctantadult both those are lovely but remember they're heavily styled you'd have to spend quite a bit of time on that every morning

urgen · 28/07/2022 12:31

I agree with Cait. Hair wont look like that unless you get it some significant attention. Sadly you wont wake up looking like that. Also I hope you dont mind me saying. It looks rather stringy and that fringe (I have a fringe too!) is very heavy. She is very pretty as I sure you are too but girls like that can get away with far more than our mere mortals! She is also very young.,
