What is M&S size small please?

Quick question what size does M&S size small equate to in dressing gowns?
I've had a look at the size chart & been bamboozled 😂
These start at XS which I presumed was a 6-8 & a Small was 8-10 but looking at the size chart does it mean Small is 12-14?
There are only 5 sizes in total going up to XL.

I'm presuming it's going off the bottom chart?

I’m a size 8 and bought an xs dressing gown last year. M and S clothes tend to be cut generously imo.

From my experience of M&S sizing, I’d guess that extra small was 10-12 and extra small is 8-10. They don’t do a real 6..

Ahh that's what I'm hoping for that small is 10-12, not a 12-14. I already ordered just assuming that 🙈 then looked at the sizing chart after & thought I'd got it wrong!

there 5 categories and 5 dual sizes
XS, S, M, L, XL
8-10, 12-14, 16-18, 20-22, 24-26
So 8 is XS.
M&S stocks other brands so everytime I would open the size guide because in other places XL is size 14 to 16uk but here it's 24-26.

I have a M & S dressing gown in XS and it is labelled 6 - 8. I am usually a size 10 in M & S, but my actual size (measurements) according to their chart is 14 bust and 10 hip. The dressing gown is quite roomy. I do remember I got the size Small in the PJ’s though.

Yes that's great thank you I ordered small I'm a 10, hopefully it'll be OK, I just didn't want to have ordered a size up from that by mistake x

So the size small is huuuuuge on me so going to send back!
I'm wondering if there's even much a difference in the XS & S in a dressing gown.
