Matching toes and nails?

First world problem. Got a graduation ceremony coming up very soon. DS says I need to have same polish on fingers and toes ? I want to wear different colours . Is this ok? Or should I match? I’m wearing sandals .

Wear what you want. I don’t think it has to match.

NashvilleQueen · 25/07/2022 06:56

Mine never match

marcopront · 25/07/2022 06:59

If it is his graduation then I would have them matching.

Christinatheastonishing · 25/07/2022 07:00

Which 2 colours?

I would do bright red/coral on toes with a nude colour on fingers, but I wouldn't clash the two.

heavyistheheed · 25/07/2022 07:12

Mine always match but errrr since when would your child get to dictate your varnish colour?!

Honaloulou · 25/07/2022 07:21

I don't tend to match. But more importantly - I wouldn't do anything simply because my DS told me to!

You need to be presentable, but beyond that do what you like.

Asparagusluvva · 25/07/2022 07:37

Sorry, meant DD , not DS! It’s not actually said DD’s ceremony , she’s just the fashion police in our family. I mainly wanted to make sure I wouldn’t be committing some dreadful style faux pas. And @Christinatheastonishing , those colours are exactly what I was planning on!

I like to match, but as PP have said, you should do what you would like to do, not as DD says!

Enjoy the graduation!

Thesehills · 25/07/2022 07:59

Matching for me.

Doesn't matter though, do what you like. 🙂

Footbal · 25/07/2022 08:06

I always match.

KangarooKenny · 25/07/2022 08:09

As it’s her graduation I’d be inclined to do as she suggests, and matching does look nice.

PrimroseWharf · 25/07/2022 08:10

I do prefer matching or red on toes/nude on hands

HelenHywater · 25/07/2022 08:12

mine never match either.

OutDamnedSpot · 25/07/2022 08:12

If it was her ceremony, I’d let her make the call about what was/n’t okay, but if it’s ‘just’ teenage arrogance, then no.

FWIW, my toes are always a colour, my fingers are neutral. I cba with keeping finger colours looking good!

stupidly · 25/07/2022 08:13

No I'm not keen on matching.
Too matchy matchy.

I'd deffo go for a red or orange on toes. Or even a dark colour on toes. With a nude on fingers.

marcopront · 25/07/2022 08:14

Not her ceremony - not her choice.

I rarely do finger nails as it chips so easily.

TipsyandChips · 25/07/2022 08:22

I matched for the first time ever for DD's graduation, she was impressed.

SloppyHousekeeper · 25/07/2022 08:22

My toes are always a bright colour and fingers clear or a natural colour. I don't like bright fingernails any more and don't like natural toe nails. So I never match.

User952539 · 25/07/2022 08:24

Matching always. But literally nobody will notice anyway.

cherrypiepie · 25/07/2022 08:28

Do you ever wear polish on toes or hands?

I never match, but my nail tech always matches. I'd get gel on fingers in a pretty pink and red normal polish on toes.

You'd be better to go to salon for this.

Blackdiame · 25/07/2022 10:03

Who is going to notice but you?

DashboardConfessional · 25/07/2022 21:13

I only ever wear Maybelline Rose Poudré on my toes!
