A decent home fake tan

I’m going to a wedding and my pasty white legs need tanning, I’m too self conscious to go for a spray tan so can you MNers recommend any at home spray tan products? Not St Tropez as made my skin look a bit green!

Thanks

My go to home tan is Vita Liberata, all the others are too orange for my pale skin or patchy/smell weird/streak. But for my legs I just wear tan tights, alot less hassle and no one is generally close enough to tell I'm wearing tights.

I've just purchased and used twice now the Bali Express 1 hour tan from ASOS - I think it's excellent, it's a tinted mousse and because you shower off after an hour, you don't have to worry about sheets getting marked, going patchy due to wearing pj's or night sweats- you can just apply it in the morning, pop over a loose black dress and then shower off after an hour. I'm very impressed, it's £29 though, so expensive and not on offer anywhere.

Bought 2 Vita bottles in boots and they were both green! Never again.

bondi sands is the best around

MuchasSmoochas · 24/07/2022 13:35

Bondi Sands gradual spray oil. Lovely light layers.
Or leg makeup? Vita liberata body blur, it washes off.

Cocoa brown extra dark, every time!!! Love it

HouseofGods · 24/07/2022 13:37

Isle of paradise for me. I use the medium but it comes in a lighter and darker tone also.

TheWristBoundLatexBitch · 24/07/2022 13:39

Bondi sands is the only fake tan I get on with.

Beercrispsandnuts · 24/07/2022 13:40

tried them all, skinny tan for me.

LarryTrotter · 24/07/2022 13:44

I bought St Moriz mousse from Asda yesterday and was very impressed with it.

SmellyWellyWoo · 24/07/2022 13:50

I love Palmer's cocoa butter. Bit smelly but so naturally looking. Get loads of compliments on how natural it looks.

SmellyWellyWoo · 24/07/2022 13:54

Oops sorry, Palmers is a gradual tan, not instant.

BreakfastClub80 · 24/07/2022 14:00

I got on well with Bondi Sands mousse. And you can buy a product to take it off if you need to. I don’t know if it would look green though, it didn’t on me, my DD and her (very pale) friend but you’d have to try it. Very easy to apply.

Boredhavemercy · 24/07/2022 14:47

Thanks all. I’ve tried gradual tan before - different makes and didn’t get on with any as you can’t see where you’ve applied.
I think an express 1 hour one is a good shout so I don’t get it rubbing off in bed!

The one I mentioned above is an instant one x

hopeishere · 24/07/2022 16:27

Use a mitt. It's makes all the difference.

CusheyButterfield · 24/07/2022 17:40

Bondi sands and a mitt for me.
Using the mitt has changed me from someone is is utterly rubbish at all things tanning to someone with actually decently fake tanned legs.

Boredhavemercy · 25/07/2022 00:47

I’ve ordered skinny tan mousse! Just a small one to see what it’s like! Fingers crossed 😁

Skinny tan has stopped working for me, not sure why! Used it last year and it was fine, this year my skin doesn't seem to be changing colour at all (it's a new tube btw - not the mousse but the gradual tanner).

Anyone got any idea what I'm doing wrong? Apologies for hijacking your thread op!

ParvuliThankYouDebbie · 25/07/2022 09:06

I’ve tried so many and Il makiage is the best fake tan I’ve ever bought. It’s the only one that I’ve ever managed to get an even non streaky colour from. It’s a coloured mousse so you can see it go on, and the mitt makes it easy to apply.

I'm a big fan of this www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003BQSWDC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
