Help styling a dress please?

I have bought this dress which i love for a wedding soon - but I'm not sure about shoes and handbag etc. My initial thoughts were to go with nude but it seems so dull! What colours would work with it please? I can't really wear jewellery so can't dress it up that way, so hoping shoes and bag can make it look 'together' Thanks!

Sorry, your dress is lovely and the style of the yellow sandals from another poster are perfect for it even though I’d go for pink.

MayMi · 24/07/2022 04:54

I think nude shoes and bag would look really nice with this dress.

mathanxiety · 24/07/2022 04:57

A pair of purple velvet platform sandals like the ones Cressida Bonas wore to the wedding of Tatiana Mountbatten this week would be nice.

Otherwise, a multi colored sandal with some green among the colors would be nice. Or two tone black and white slingbacks.

Lovely dress - please don’t kill it with something sedate like nude heels. My first thought was hot pink but don’t match the bag clash the bag. So pink shoes and multicoloured embroidered bag with hot colours or something like the Kensington from Kurt Geiger. Or alternatively the leopard / pink combination. You need to match the intensity of the green though so no sludgy / pale variations.

Orange looks too much like a leprechaun but leopard and a pink or yellow clutch would be gorgeous.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 24/07/2022 09:11

I would have bought matching bag and shoes so I've learnt something new from those thread! I will start researching brightly coloured sandals. My budget is high street for shoes so if anyone has seen any gems that would be great.

Thanks for all of the lovely comments on the dress, I've been working from home for three years and seem to have got out of the habit of wearing colour but always used to think green was flattering with my colouring.

Leopard or gold

Ebonyhorse · 24/07/2022 09:15

Definitely not nude. Yawn.

dudsville · 24/07/2022 09:18

I think the leopard print makes sense. If you think about wearing that colour to the office then a rich deep briwn would make the most sense, black and vivid colours would be too harsh, so leopard print elevates the brown idea to festive-wear.

Sandals like this and a yellow bag to match

Oooo I LOVE these

Yorkshirelass04 · 24/07/2022 09:30

The yellow sandals above and a leopard print bag! Plus gold earrings.

You're making me want the outfit myself 🤪

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/07/2022 09:51

I think clashing bright colours (eg hot pink shoes and yellow bag, or whatever) would cheapen it.

Where do you usually get your shoes from, OP? What sort of style/heel do you favour?

Pbbananabagel · 24/07/2022 09:54

I’d wear some kind of blocky wood and leather heels and tooled leather clutch with a gold statement necklace but that’s me

Ebonyhorse · 24/07/2022 10:00

Those new look sandals look really cheap.

Pbbananabagel · 24/07/2022 10:29

It’s example @Ebonyhorse and she’s got high street budget.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 24/07/2022 10:46

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie honestly I mostly wear Adidas trainers and loafers for work. I haven't bought dressy shoes in years so no idea what my usual would be. For clothes I shop all over - white stuff or fat face is probably my go to for casual and dresses but I'm not averse to Sainsbury's either if I like something. At the cheaper end probably H&M, not really into Primark, Shein etc.

@Yorkshirelass04 haha treat yourself. Love the dress - I ordered 3 green wrap dresses to try on and ended up keeping them all 🙈

Fatface have got green clogs! Those and a leopard print or pink bag would be cute.
