Going to dye hair magenta. What’s your hair colour?

So, my kids want me to dye my hair a bright colour for the summer. I fancy a colour change, currently a bright red but now fading. I absolutely love magenta! And think I will go for it. I just hope it takes. Before I did the redo had dark brown hair.

Anyone colouring their hair a bright colour for summer? Which colour have you decided on?

Next, I’m thinking tattoo! 😀But that’s a whole other thread…😉😂

This is mine 😁 it's the same mix of wella colours I usually go for except this time decided to do a couple of bleach baths first so it would be brighter. I think it's possibly too bright 🙈 but I'm keeping it for a wee while.

@FlatWhiteExtraHot A DIY job, Under the current red is lots of different shades of red, then medium brown shades. So I’m hoping it will be straightforward, in the sense I can just mix it and apply. But I’m speaking to my hairdresser next week, she’ll be trimming my hair.

I’m going for a more dusky pink on my blonde ends, as I currently have a balayage type of thing. Did it a few weeks ago and it looked great, but it only lasted 2 washes so trying a different type this time!

I currently have bright blue. No idea what it’s called as I mixed it myself.
I change colour constantly.
Before this I had unicorn hair
bright pink and purple
various pastels

have tried the drops both branded and stores own that you add to conditioner and it never takes.

My natural colour is largely silver. I use a colour depositing shampoo in a purple shade - I do it about once a week, and it fades to a lilac throughout the week.

Go for it! I wish I was brave enough :) currently a faded deep red. Naturally I’m about medium brown, so bright isn’t achievable unless I bleach. But it’s also very fine so I’m too scared to bleach and potentially fry it!

I'd really like to have some blue in there too but I'm brunette and no blue I've tried has done anything over the top of the purple or on my natural colour. Don't fancy bleaching it myself!

I love that colour - it's just the right mix of pink and red to look cool rather than the 'dinner lady red' that someone described on here the other week! I have completely bleached hair so i could achieve this fairly easily, what colour do you use?

@ThickCutSteakChips Dinner lady red It was a 50:50 mix of Wella Koleston 55/65 and 55/66, used 6% developer (Welloxon Perfect) and I just ordered from Amazon. It's definitely growing on me as its quite a chameleon colour i.e when I've just blowdried it and the sun is shining it's INTENSE, but I can make it a bit more low-key if needed with a ponytail and some hairspray. Plus I get a lot of compliments which is always nice I'm sure you will look amazing!

Thank you - I use loreal toners so have the 'dia' developer so have been looking at the equivalent on there (5.60 and 5.66) I think so now am very tempted! It looks gorgeous!

Mine is DIY, do my roots with superdrug Red Velvet , put various Crazy Colour reds on the rest.
This is Vermilion.

Quite similar to the photo, but the top is blue and purple and slightly different shades underneath.

Dyed my hair this afternoon, but silly me bought a colour mask 😬and didn’t realise until afterwards! it just made my hair more redder. I love red! But it’s more a deeper red, which will wash out very quickly. I half knew I wouldn’t end up with bright magenta hair but I’d hoped for a difference. Plus, it didn’t help I bought the wrong type ( need to read things throughly!) My hair is too dark to go the bright magenta, unless I bleach it. I don’t think I fancy that tbh.

I’m just thinking which other colour I can use for a bright effect. I just want something different for summer.

I used to dye mine a vibrant scarlet. It was lovely, but what upkeep! I now have what they (hairdressers) call a light golden brown. However, my hair is not light, I would say medium though when I do my brows I go for brunette.

I think with plainer hair I can change my make up more.
