Why is there so much choice? I'm trying to move away from L'Oréal and look at brands that don't test on animals.

Does anyone use Herbal essences or Tresemme? I've used both YEARS ago and can't remember how good they were.

My hair really gets on with Kerastase but I can't afford it any more and also I'm sure I heard they're part of the l'oreal brand as well 🤔

I'm not loyal to any particular brand of shampoo but have bought different versions of Tressame over the years. It's always be fine, and very good value.

<Disclaimer>
Not a High Street brand and not a cheap one but :

I buy a litre of Aveda Shampure ( I have the pump) , its £50/litre in M&S , I wait till there's an offer
It'll last me a year (even with my DS helping himself and thinks I don't know ....) so £1/week , I wash my hair every other day

I also buy Body Shop Ginger (refillable) for everyone
And Liz Earle shampoo conditioner and mask

I've tried some of the own brands (Sainsbury Apple which was dirt cheap but not very nice ) or Superdrug dandruff for DS and DH.
But I risk being left with a cupboard full of half bottles where I get fed up and swap them.

And before someone says OP wanted cheapie cheap supermarket and that 70isaLimit comes on with her ££ shampoo it costs less in the long run and its my Holy Grail

I bought one of the Aldi shampoos the other day (one with clay), used it yesterday, my hair is like a birds nest made of thorns, awful. Hard to get a brush through.

I can use any shampoo usually, from expensive to cheap such as Alberto Balsom for 99p, never had any problems. Did pick up yesterday in Home Bargains Tony & Guy shampoo for £1.99 which I really like and the conditioner was the same price.

Violetparis · 23/07/2022 08:51

I use Tresemme for coloured hair, prefer it to more expensive brands.

Grumpybutfunny · 23/07/2022 08:53

I use the Aussie Mirical moisture, usually pick it up in home bargains. If it's not in I will pick up the Tony and guy or bed head

MrsPerfect12 · 23/07/2022 08:56

I've been told by a friend that Aldi are being out a dupe for Olaplex. That might be worth a try.

userxx · 23/07/2022 09:00

My hair loves kerastace too but as you say, it's pricy. I've recently bought dove moisturising shampoo and I like it.

That's a copy of the Loreal one and my hair was the same when I used that too.

Revolution already have a dupe apparently buy I haven't tried it yet.

RaininSummer · 23/07/2022 09:12

I am using tresemme again at present and liking it usually use bedhead or doctor organic.

catfunk · 23/07/2022 09:14

Stay away from aldi and Lidl ones -
They ruined my hair.
I now buy big bottles of silicone/ SLS free ones from Tk Maxx or faith in nature. Smells divine and my hair is in great condition agains.

gogohmm · 23/07/2022 09:33

Try the Lidl or Aldi knock off ones, I use their version of herbal essences. No difference except the price

bravotango · 23/07/2022 11:07

I like the Aldi tresseme dupe

DreamloverTealover · 23/07/2022 11:26

Thanks everyone for your replies! So much choice isn't there. I think I'm going to try Tresemme first.

I tried Aldis version of an Aussie conditioner and it was alright actually.

@70isaLimitNotaTarget thats a good idea as well looking at it spread across the year and getting all that use out of one purchase!

My hair was previously damaged and I used to buy all the shampoos that claimed to gift me hair growth etc but almost 10 years later I gave up and got it cut short and now got shoulder length hair that I have to colour but it isn't damaged any more.

Saying that, I rarely use heat now but struggling with a shampoo except Kerastase that I can wash, condition and air dry and it looks nice! Hence the cheap shampoos as every shampoo seems the same now.

I agree, genuinely surprised at how good it is. I usually spend £6 on a bottle of shampoo, this Aldi one is less than £2.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 23/07/2022 12:18

I like Tresseme but it ruins my scalp so can't use it often.
