Birkenstock sizing

About to treat myself to a (fluffy) pair of Birkenstock sandals . Can anyone tell me about the sizing? I'm a smallish 4. Are they quite true to size or come up big/small?

I'm usually a 6 but am a 5 in birkenstock. Just bought new sandals last weekend and got a 5 gizah .

lalaloopyhead · 20/07/2022 19:41

I'd say slightly on the big size..I'm 5.5 usually buy a 6 in most places but definitely 5 for me in Birkenstocks

liveforsummer · 20/07/2022 19:47

Ooh I wonder if I should get a 3 then. I say small 4 but then my sorel boots are a 5 and only slightly on the big side but I know they are very small made. Why can't everything be the same size 😆

I'm a size down in them from my usual. They come up very big.

Hensintheskirting · 20/07/2022 19:50

Definitely size down OP. I'm a 6 or 7 even in some places and am a perfect 5 for Birkenstocks

Potatomashed · 20/07/2022 19:56

Woah I would never had said to size down in Birkenstocks! Im a standard size 4 and buy a 4 wide in Birkenstocks in every style I have worn

DappledOliveGroves · 20/07/2022 19:58

I had always found that I needed a smaller size, but I bought a pair a couple of weeks ago (Arizona) and they're true to size.

liveforsummer · 20/07/2022 20:04

The style are Madrid if that's any help?!

Size down,they're huge.

Octomore · 20/07/2022 20:07

There's a guide to measuring your feet for their sizes on the website - I've found that to be spot on

CatLadyDrinksGin · 20/07/2022 20:09

Use the size guide on the website- lots of people wear ones that are too small for them.

Thumbergia · 20/07/2022 20:18

As others have said, they come up big, I normally take a 6 but am a 5 in Birkenstocks

springingup · 20/07/2022 22:13

Get your usual size. Or use the size guide tool on their website. There is supposed to be space at your toes and heel to allow for how your foot moves as you walk.

LadyPoison · 20/07/2022 23:53

I need to size down half a size. I’m a 6.5 in most but only a 5.5 in Birkenstock and there is plenty of room

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 21/07/2022 00:11

I wouldn't size down a full size, maybe half a size but it depends a bit on the shape of your feet and whether you are buying narrow or standard fit.

I wear a 37 in birkies, fitflops and DMs, and a size bigger in superga if that helps.

Afrodizzyak · 21/07/2022 00:17

I'm a size 3 and wear a size 36 Birkenstock.

OrangeBlossom28 · 21/07/2022 00:17

I'm a 4.5 and wear a 4 in the Madrids and can fit into a 3 fairly comfortably too. Definitely go for the 3 if you're a small 4.

GoingOnce · 21/07/2022 00:18

Yup. Size down.

This ^
The gap front and back is supposed to be there.
Most people you see are wearing them way too small.

liveforsummer · 21/07/2022 07:44

I've ordered the 3. Had a look on the Birkenstock website and I think that will be right if they come up big - sizing guide shows only a very small space front and back. Also very happy because they are still showing as £150 on the site and I paid £62 including extra for next day delivery. Thanks all 😁

I'm a large 41 and the regular fit Gizeh is fine in a 41. I have some narrow Arizonas and had to size up to a 42, so I find the fit varies depending on width/style.

VaVaVoombangabang · 21/07/2022 08:17

I am a size 4 and I wear a 37 in Madrid, Giza, Arizona and a pair of Arizona shearling.

Once bought a 36 in Giza and they were too small.
