Fixing Bob hair style.

Had my hair cut last week. It's a poker straight bob. But flicking out at the front. Any idea how to trim the ends and fix it. The hair dressers were a bit arsy when I popped in to get them to Trim it and going on holiday tomorrow. I have a pair of thinning scissors. (That belong to my cat. I'm sure she'll let me use them)

Mine has the tendency to flick out at the ends and I’ve had the very ends sort of clipped in a bit like in this pic. It seems to have done the trick. If I have a totally blunt bob I end up having to use a straightener on the ends all the way round.

I have a straight blunt bob but a bit longer. I use wide plate straighteners round the bottom to get it poker straight and try to remember not to put it behind my ears as that makes it flick out.
I wouldn’t go at it with thinning scissors.

Don't start chopping it, it's a very precise cut!

Not sure what's wrong it looks nice.

eatingasatsuma · 20/07/2022 20:58

Trimming it isn't going to stop the flicking. It'll just flick out shorter. It looks great!!! I'd love it if I could have a bob as thick as yours. Enjoy your holiday!

Runningupthathill01 · 20/07/2022 20:59

I like it like that!

SkeletonFight · 20/07/2022 21:03

Do you mean turning in towards your face? I think it looks great but if you wanted it straight just use straighteners on that bit.

I thought you were going to show this

It's a good cut. I think hair straighteners will give you the shape you want.

Toddlerteaplease · 21/07/2022 20:03

It's flick forward, it's a terrible cut. It normally behaves impeccably. I'm not sure what's gone wrong this time. All it needs is washing and brushing each morning and that's it. No straightening or product required.

The angle it's cut at might be longer towards your face, so it's falling forward, it may have been cut with too much tension which can make bobs sit oddly or it may need a slight undercut layering at the ends to make it fall under - you really need a hairdresser to trim it to get what you want, don't do it yourself, it's too lovely.

GuybrushT · 21/07/2022 22:16

Mine does this but straightening it helps. As a pp mentioned though, mine also just flicks back instantly if I tuck it behind my ears!

Toddlerteaplease · 22/07/2022 13:24

Found a hair dresser to fix it for me. Cost £20 but worth it as I feel so much better! This is how it's meant to look!

I asked for that cut last year and they fucked mine up too. It’s a precise cut.

I looked awful.

Pifflewiffle · 22/07/2022 21:42

That looks so good. I’m so glad you have it how you want it . Definitely worth £20 it took to put it right.

JaneJeffer · 23/07/2022 01:31

How does it look longer?

Pifflewiffle · 23/07/2022 05:02

That what I noticed - it looks longer now

Toddlerteaplease · 23/07/2022 12:16

She had to take some off to sort it out. My usual hairdresser had surgery the week before, and I think had come back to work too soon. It definitely wasn't her usual
Standard. She normally would take the weight out and shake it after drying it but didn't this time.
