Handbags for £40 or less?

Hi everyone... I am looking to buy a good quality medium sized handbag as a gift to a relative. Budget is £40 max, preferably around £35. Is it even possible? Are there any non high street unique brands that I can look at? Any pointers will be really helpful.

Can I ask why you decided on a handbag? It's just that I love handbags but I'm really fussy about what I like and I wouldn't want to be given one as a gift because it probably wouldn't fit my specific criteria.

I'm not saying this to be horrible, just giving my opinion. Otoh I'm not so fussy about purses. 🙂I'm fussy but will accept a purse as a gift.

I agree. Purse much safer. Im very fussy with bags. Check out Kin at John Lewis I would think it would suit most tastes.

White stuff too... they have a great sale right now.

If your mind is made up about a bag, for that budget I'd recommend Mia Tui.

Also, the outlet nearest me does Paul Costelloe.

Assots London have a good range and often have discounts.

Kate Loxton has a lovely compact cross body for £40. Comes in lots of colours.

Not a brand in particular but TKMAXX do some good bags at reasonable prices

What about a cross body bag with changeable straps? You can then buy a new strap every birthday/Christmas? The bag is £18 and the straps are £12 so within budget.

Another recommendation for Mia Tui. The bags are gorgeous and really good quality. I have 4.

@IloveJudgeJudy, I agree, and I am fussy too about bags...I asked her if there's something specific she wants (it's for her birthday) and she said she wants a bag 🙂. She isn't too fussy as long as it looks good (she trusts my choice apparently) and has decent space. So not a purse, but a bag 😬. Will check out Mia tui. Thanks

@Allaboutthecheesecake, I did have a look at our local tkmaxx over the weekend, but they didn't have too many to choices... I liked a couple of bags and will keep as back up options if I don't find anything else decent.
