Or anyone who can help.

Need to be covered up but cool. 42 forecast here. Was day off today so loafed about in front of a fan.

Dress code relaxed not not specified for females as they said it was easier for women. Men can wear a polo shirt. Pupils in PE kit.

Not school but public sector, tomorrow I'm going in loose linen trousers a T-shirt and Birkenstocks

I'm a bit worried the linen trousers are too warm

LadyMacnet · 18/07/2022 20:00

Short sleeved midi jersey cotton shift dress from Boden.

Maireas · 18/07/2022 20:01

My classroom is an oven.
Loose cotton midi skirt, cotton oversized t-shirt, both M&S.
Clarks sandals, comfy and don't rub.
Still too hot, though!

wonderstuff · 18/07/2022 20:04

Cotton summer dress and Birkenstocks. Tomorrow I’m going for cotton trousers and white v neck tee,

DecimatedDreams · 18/07/2022 20:04

Early years rather than secondary - midi t-shirt dress and converse.

SteveHarringtonsChestHair · 18/07/2022 20:05

Primary school here. Thin cotton maxi dress and trainers.

Quadrilingual · 18/07/2022 20:10

I was off because of covid but going in tomorrow. Pregnant as well so going to be a struggle 🙈
I'm going to wear a thin midi dress.

cherrypiepie · 18/07/2022 20:13

Thanks everyone @linenalltheway I have linen culottes and was thinking the same

I have a linen skirt and I'll find a t shirt that doesn't have polyester in although they all seem to!

I think I'd be too hot in a jersey dress

All through school here (special Ed)

Today I wore a cotton midi dress and cycling shorts underneath with trainers. We aren't allowed open toe shoes.

Pieceofpurplesky · 18/07/2022 20:16

No open toes (or trainers) here either.
I did a huge floaty dress. Did a lot of wafting

ShowOfHands · 18/07/2022 20:17

Loose oversized cotton tunic with cotton skirt today.

Tomorrow will be a cotton, oversized midi dress.

Hair up.

Today was brutal for everybody. No air con in most rooms and a lot of lethargic students. Several without water bottles...

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 18/07/2022 20:18

I would avoid knitted jersey or t shirts at all costs. Knitted items trap warmth and are insulating.

woven items are much cooler and don’t hug the body.

A short sleeve jersey midi dress sounds terrible for the heat. I’d be wearing linen. That’s the coolest fibre there is, followed by cotton.

Textile Science degree.

cherrypiepie · 18/07/2022 21:29

Ok so no skirt is a linen viscose mix and my t shirt is 100% cotton so I should survive. Dress to change into at 3pm when kids go but too thin/ casual to wear during day
