As above, there are 5 of us so it could be a big outlay...

Amazon- if you search for peshtemal towels they are really nice, very thin to carry, brilliant absorbing

www.amazon.co.uk/Turkish-Emporium-Beach-Cotton-Turquoise/dp/B00M9EMH92/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=SP9A50NUTR9E&keywords=turkish%2Bemporium%2Btowel&qid=1658164020&sprefix=turkish%2Bem%2Caps%2C175&sr=8-3&th=1&psc=1

We got four of these in 2017 for holidays/swimming/beach and they’re still going strong. Highly recommend, really good value.

SingingSands · 18/07/2022 18:57

I've got the same as @autumnboys and they're brilliant. They are so light and dry really quickly and also roll up tightly so don't take up room in your bag.

Thank you!

Same stuff on eBay but cheaper. Amazing towels. A real Mumsnet find!

Justkoko · 19/07/2022 11:10

Yes having a look on ebay but bamboozled, I've read that sometimes they're not 100% cotton? There are so many!

OnenessWithAllStrife · 19/07/2022 12:06

check their reviews on ebay, i am sure there are many 100% cotton ones, but of course the market will soon sniff if there's an interest (growing trend) for them and stores like the white company will sell you the exact same towel for an extra £500.....just think of the 'prestige'....Grin

peachescariad · 19/07/2022 12:07

Tesco - got mine for £10 each

UndertheEagle · 19/07/2022 21:25

Dunelm have some in sale at moment. £4 each.

EmmaH2022 · 19/07/2022 21:26

Does anyone have a link for good ebay ones? Thanks.

EmmaH2022 · 19/07/2022 22:03

Thank you Wool

greyinganddecaying · 19/07/2022 22:56

I also have the Tesco ones and love them

Justkoko · 21/07/2022 09:31

Fab, I'm going to look at these, are they generally colour fast?

Primark had some lovely looking ones the other day but I didn't feel them or look too closely at them.

NeedWineNow · 22/07/2022 18:10

Not Hammam towers but I got some quick drying microfibre towels from Dock & Bay for our recent holiday. They were amazing. Folded down into a small bag, dried quickly and didn't get that horrid 'wet towel' smell half way through the holiday. DH and I took one each and they lasted us for a 2 week holiday.

MyrtlethePurpleTurtle · 02/08/2022 16:59

Ooh - I bought a back of x4 from Amazon and they’re fab. Really recommend - here’s the link

Four for £15.99

And a generous size - 170cm x 90cm - so good for lying on. And there are smaller ones for younger DC

Nicola Spring Set of 4 Blue & Red 170cm x 90cm 100% Turkish Cotton Bath Towel - Lightweight & Absorbent Large Adults Drying Beach Bathroom Gym Shower Sauna

MyrtlethePurpleTurtle · 02/08/2022 17:00

And now with link

MyrtlethePurpleTurtle · 02/08/2022 17:00

Cheaper tha. The smaller o ex I bought 10+ years ago

Justkoko · 02/08/2022 19:21

If you're lying on the typical plastic sunloungers, aren't they just really hard to lie on? Towels give little but of cushioning.

OP posts:
MyrtlethePurpleTurtle · 05/08/2022 16:33

At @Justkoko - no, they wouldn’t provide any ‘padding’ for sun loungers. But FO r for lying on soft sand. < sighs wistfully >

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 05/08/2022 17:55

£4 Rinkit I have one of these, it's excellent. Better than my Dock & Bay fancy microfibre towel.

Annonnimoouse42 · 05/08/2022 18:04

i bought one after another thread about them and the cats claimed it straight out of the package

TheMousePipes · 05/08/2022 18:04

I got some lovely hammam towels from H & M home. They’ve washed well and gone away for next year, I think they were about £10 each.
