I'm starting to use a sunscreen as well as spf in foundation and my moisturiser because I really need to get my act together 😂🤦‍♀️ im 30

So I;
Cleanse (farmacy green clean)
niacinamide serum
Moisturise (medik8 or Charlotte tilbury magic cream)
Sunscreen (la Roche posay anthelios)

And so far I've not been able to put makeup on because my face is so sweaty it looks like I've been in the shower. It just drips off me!

Any ideas? I'm not talking right now obviously but I want to start wearing makeup again as my health improves because I have hyperthyroidism. I haven't been able to put makeup on since I started using a separate sunscreen

Help a sweaty gal out!

Sounds like you can skip the moisturiser. LRP sunscreen is moisturising, and I definitely looked greasy when I applied both moisturiser and sunscreen, but I look fine with just sunscreen.

You could also skip the serum, as niacinamide isn’t proven to do anything. Or switch it to a mist / only apply a minimal amount and give it time to settle in before the sunscreen.

Other things you could try:
Blotting paper
Setting powder
Changing sunscreen brand/formulation

But for me, after lots of experimentation, skipping the moisturiser was what I needed.

I use anthelios over my regular skincare (vit c, eye cream, then moisturiser). I try and leave at least 10 mins between each step and sometimes need to blot before sunblock application. It usually works for me but I'd be far too sticky to apply anything straight away

Have you tried CT invisible UV primer. I've just recently started using it and I think it's absolutely amazing!

HuffleWoof · 18/07/2022 12:18

@MarbleGolden no I haven't, I'll have a look thankyou!

How can anyone bear to put make up on in this heat? Doesn’t it just melt, or flow off with the inevitable natural sweating? I’ve never understood the appeal of clogging one’s pores with gunk in the first place, but in this weather it sounds awful!

Try the ambre Solaire over make up spray - it’s a weightless one so won’t slide

I don't put a moisturiser and sunscreen on in this weather. Just the sunscreen. Also, the CT moisturiser is very rich for daytime. I'd just use it at night if it's not sinking straight in. If you do still need a daytime moisturiser try a gel one like Neutrogena hydrogel.

I FOUND A NEW ONE!!!! This is amazing. - Heliocare 360

The CT is far too heavy for me in this weather. I don't know what your sunscreen is like but the vichy capital soleli uv age is nice and light weight and my tinted moisturiser goes on nicely. If I want to use foundation I use the CT finishing spray then apply the foundation then the spray again (keep it in the fridge).
