Not frumpy maternity clothes

Hi everyone. I'm 28, and currently 14 weeks into my first pregnancy. I'm currently getting away with flowy summer dresses, but thinking about what to wear going into the autumn/winter.

I've started looking at maternity brands (seraphine, h&m maternity, Isabella Oliver) and it's all just so frumpy! Surely the audience for these clothes are 25-40 ish women, so I'm really surprised by how old' they are! (I don't mean to offend, just my thoughts!) Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong places!

I usually shop at Cos/arket/other stories. I like simple shapes and colours, rarely anything too fitted. Can anyone give me any advice on what to wear?! Can I get away with my usual clothes in a size or two up?

I don't want to buy much, and only things I can wear again, if possible. Looking for trousers and cold weather basics mostly. Thank you!

I had 2 winter babies.

Invest in a good maternity coat. Ideally one you can use for baby wearing too. I actually got a wrap coat rather than a maternity style as it grew with me.

Get some good jeans and easy to pull on boots. I lived in Ugg style ones near the end.

With my second I wore a lot of long vest under normal baggy jumpers. I could wear the same once baby was here and during breastfeeding.

Hey I’m in my 20s too and really struggle to find clothes. I’ve looked at River Island, ASOS, H and M, New Look, SHEIN (never shopped her before), silk Fred. My last pregnancy I got bits from boohoo, misguided and PLT. It lasted, quality was as expected, and I have it for this pregnancy except ones a summer baby and this one a winter!

i tend to go jumpsuit with t shirt or long sleeved top under when colder, jeans and some ‘nicer tops’ or a plane fitted dress. I also got some lounge suits which I wore after the birth for a couple weeks too last time

Wait and see what shape you are. I put on 7lbs in total, so mainly wore normal clothes in the next size up, except for jeans.

Leggings from love leggings. Wrap tops.
