DD16 - Wedding outfit

Hi, I'm looking for help to find an outfit for dd17 to wear to a wedding at quite a posh venue. She doesn't really wear dresses and really wants a suit. She has chunky black sandals she would like to wear with it, however I have ordered a few suits off Asos and they have drowned her. They just don't look great at all. So I'm thinking we need to steer clear of the oversized fashion. She is not adverse to suits with shorts but would prefer not to have a skirt.

She is generally a size 12 and is 5ft 4.

Any ideas?

Could they not just be ordered in a smaller size or avoid anything that is deliberately oversized? Instead I'd google for things with 'tailored' or 'slim fit' in the wording, eg "tailored trouser suits'. Zara are often quite good for things like that. Check measurements before you buy and see what size the model is wearing for comparison of then fit.

Alternatively it probably wouldn't be that expensive to have one suit tailored by someone locally which could be an option if there was one she likes that fits too large/long.

If it's summer it might be easier to just source tailored trousers and wear a top/shirt with it than find a matching suit set, if she'd be amenable. Blazer and trousers in summer would be a bit hot.

How about a jumpsuit instead. Quiz do quite a few www.quizclothing.co.uk/clothes/jumpsuits/wedding-jumpsuits/ and lots of other places will as well. Some of them actually resemble a shirt and trousers but a bit more fancy than a suit. Maybe get more of a wide leg or palazzo leg to make it more dressy.

Not sure of your budget but Hobbs had fitted ones. Get them quickly in sales.

Love the jumpsuit idea but she keeps saying her gran wears jumpsuits 😆 Her gran dresses beautifully might I add.

I'll take a look at hobbs thanks. The wedding isn't until September. I should have put that and it's at the church first, then the venue, so ideally she'll need some kind of light jacket.
