Converse sizing?

Dd 12 has asked for her first pair of Converse trainers, she's usually a size 6 or 6.5 adult ladies depending on the fit (school shoes from Clarks are 6.5 F)

Do Converse come up big or small, or true to size? Should I order a 6 and a 7 to try? Help please!

I find them quite narrow so always size up (I'm a 3 and always get a 4)

They are narrow but easy to tighten so maybe size up if she has wide feet

I'm either a 6 or a 7 depending on the style / make of shoe; generally closer to a 6 in trainers and boots. I've got Converse in both 6 and 6.5 and both are fine, I couldn't tell which size is which when they're on without checking.

So to round up, I'd suggest a 6.5 or even a 7 (but the option to return/exchange).

Converse do half sizes in some styles/colours so you could get a 6.5. I need a 5.5, the 5 is just too short but the 6 feels huge. I am a 5.5. Schuh stock some half sizes and the Converse website has the full range. For anyone with wider feet, their website also has wide fit.

I always have to size down in converse. A half size down is perfect, I own 3 pairs. I have small, narrow feet.

I’ve researched this for ages and I think the issue is that Converse are basically a long and narrow shoe with the big rubber bit at the end which your foot isn’t really supposed to take up all the space in (as there’s no give). The shoes can feel massive when first on so as a result some people size down. You can only do this if you have very narrow and petite feet as otherwise they will rub. People with wide feet often need to do the opposite. So to me this isn’t about length of the foot but the width. I’d also say the difference between half sizes is very minimal.

I am a size 6 and my feetvare quite narrow. I have several pairs of converse in 6.5 and one in 6. The 6.5 are definitely a better fit, I wish I had changed the size 6.
