Hold ups that hold up!

Any recommendations for hold ups/stockings?! Sick of wearing tights to work but can't stand hold ups that slip down

I’ve never found any, to the extent that l think they should be renamed “full downs”. Which is why in spring and autumn (outside of the bare legs season and the opaque tights season) l am often in suspenders.

They don’t deserve their sleaze reputation (my grandmother wore them after all!) and a good quality belt designed for day to day wear (try Fantasie) as opposed to to being only for the bedroom is a must.

I wear suspender tights; some brands call them strip panty tights or mock garters. They stay up and you don't have the faff of suspenders. I have Trasparenze Cortina ones - they're pricy but last forever. Snag also do them and they are much cheaper but I haven't tried them.

Are you wearing them correctly? No body lotion etc where the silicon strip sits. I also find they only sit well on a certain part of my thigh - any higher they roll down.

If the silicon doesn't stick then run a damp finger round it.

I have never found hold ups (fall downs!!) that were really 'safe' to wear. I just bought 2 pairs decent quality (Charmos) to give them another try - but OK round house but fall down outside - maybe its my thighs!
I gave up on tights years ago (other than thick tights for very cold weather) and wear stockings. They don't deserve their 'bedroom' reputation - comfy, healthy esp in hot weather, economical as if one snags unlike tights you can put on another. And as commented you can get plain/sensible suspender belts (try Suzanne Charles).

the important things to remember are no moisturiser or talc on your thighs and no fabric softener when you wash them.

I agree with @StarlightLady ive not found any that stay up so I wear stockings and suspender belt. StockingsHQ have a good selection and I would recommend a suspender belt with metal clips. I wear Transparenze opaque stockings in winter or the Charnos 24/7 15 denier when it’s warmer

Wolford. Not only they don't fall down they are actually comfortable. Not cheap though, but from my experience they last longer than others

Another vote for Wolford. The only ones that have ever stayed up. Pricy but so worth it

Silky? Another vote for marks and Spencer here too. Love their support tights as well. Soft and silky and stay in place!

I second trasparenze suspender tights. Comfy and good quality without the thrush risk of normal tights. I have several pairs in different colours and absolutely love them.
