Dunno.
Thought I looked good in the jump suit but not sure about the very open back.

Tea dress - I'm 51. Fine line between this and what your gran would have got from Littlewoods?

Column dress - ok, but cut strangely around the hips

I like the second dress which suits your shape. The first dress doesn’t fit right. Not overkeen on the jumpsuit personally but everyone else seems to like it!

bluekostree · 15/07/2022 22:43

You look fab in both but your figure is great so I'd go with jumpsuit!

TheOrigRights · 15/07/2022 23:03

You're all so lovely. Thank you. I don't really have much of a clue.
I do like my arms and tend to avoid low or v necks (unless collared) as I feel my chest area is a bit puny.

I do generally go for smooth lines, and this seasons frills and froths seem a bit much - and is why I've avoided the t dresses.

Jumpsuit not keen on the open back but your arms and shoulders look great in that sleeve/collar cut as it shows them off but the back is an awkward length I think if it was either less or more open on the back it would have looked better but it cuts your back off at an awkward point in my opinion.

The green dress with polka dots, the neckline all closed up (tea dress) is absolutely beautiful and elegant on you very feminine a huge yes from me.

The v neck doesn't work with your athletic shape I think that deep v neckline needs a curvier bustier body.

I think you'd look great in Cos type of clothes.

Appleblum · 16/07/2022 00:58

Ooo keep the jumpsuit and the first dress! You look fab in them! The v neck dress is alright but pales in comparison.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 16/07/2022 05:09

I can't work out which the column dress is - is it the first pic? You look lovely in the things in the first 3 photos in your first post.

I don't care for the dresses in your second post but that could be personal dislike, as I hate floral dresses 😂

blackgreywhite · 16/07/2022 10:43

None of your choices are fashionable, with your figure you could wear anything so it's interesting how safe and neutral the outfits you've chosen with no fashionable features or any colour etc.
Are you near a John Lewis? They do a personal style/shopping service. Or maybe one of those monthly clothing boxes which might get you looking at more interesting clothes and experiment a bit more and have fun with it?
If you're not bothered about fashion then all your choices are entirely suitable - they fit you well and you are covered - but if you're looking for more than that there are so many options out there.

EllaPaella · 16/07/2022 10:47

Love the jumpsuit and the open back looks lovely.

Having had a look at some of the options available from monthly shopping boxes, those would be the last place I'd go to for something stylish, original or different.

blackgreywhite · 16/07/2022 13:19

@TheLassWiADelicateAir - I completely agree!

But I have seen people on here that like them (probably bits) and they do use colour which I think the op is lacking and I can see they could give someone lacking in confidence the chance to try things they wouldn't normally.

blackgreywhite · 16/07/2022 13:19

(Probably bots)

ShirleyPhallus · 16/07/2022 13:21

Love the jumpsuit but those dresses are utterly blah and so drab

I agree you’d suit the style of Cos

TheOrigRights · 16/07/2022 18:20

@blackgreywhite
What do you mean by having no colour?
I tried 2 green dresses. Do you mean different colours in one piece?

@blackgreywhite and what do you mean by not fashionable? I realise M&S isn't cutting edge Vogue, but jump suits and tea dresses are in fashion atm, no?

I did just look at occasion dresses at Cos, and didn't really see anything I liked. The oversized A line dresses look dreadful on me.

the last dress is stunning, but I do like how you look in black, so elegant. You have a dancer's physique, so whilst you will pretty much suit anything, the bare arms and shoulders are exquisite. Enjoy how amazing you look!

cottagegardenflower · 16/07/2022 20:10

both look fab.
