Arch support sandals suitable for a funeral

CurtainCallClassic · 15/07/2022 15:52

I'm going to a funeral next week in the crazy heat and I need some arch support sandals that would be appropriate. My dress is a floaty tiered dark floral smock (much smarter than it sounds) and I have horrible pronation that means I can't wear standard flats at all. Funeral is early part of the week and I can't really get out to the shops over the weekend so I need somewhere online with fast delivery, if possible. Please, hivemind, help!

I have some fit flop back ones with a sparky ish but still black front band
V comfy, try their site? I got them on Sunday having ordered Friday. Pricy, but have been worn nearly every day this summer

murasaki · 15/07/2022 15:55

Black, not back...

murasaki · 15/07/2022 15:57

I think the name was lulu.

Sorry for your loss. I think it would be entirely appropriate to wear some simple and dark coloured Birkenstocks (e.g. Arizonas). There must be somewhere that can ship these quickly too

CurtainCallClassic · 15/07/2022 16:13

Thank you both. What's the sizing like for Fit Flops and Birkenstocks? I am technically 7.5 but always get an 8 in any shoe.

No idea about fit flop but I have always found Birkenstock true to size (although a lot of people like to size down but that’s not the proper fit) . They even have a call thing on their website so you can measure your foot and they’ll advise on the size.

Thanks! This has been quite a traumatic death in the family but focusing on things like what shoes to wear is keeping somewhat pulled together right now. Thanks to all posters who have answered xx

So sorry for your loss Flowers

Re sandals- I find Skechers good:

Hotter have got a good selection. They are the only ones I can wear as I have arthritis and very painful feet. They last for years and years.

peridito · 15/07/2022 17:26

OP - condolences ,somehow I feel bright sunshine and heat make losses even harder to bear Flowers
Birkenstocks do take a bit of getting used to .The Skechers look like they'd need less wearing in .

LunaLoveFood · 15/07/2022 18:08

Sketchers arch support are brilliant and come in lots of different styles, you may fund something that works.

LadyPoison · 15/07/2022 20:01

I over pronate too and was told to avoid all Skechers even the Archfit. I bought some 3/4 length arch support insoles and stuck them into place in a pair of my "pre problems" shoes. They were fine for the couple of hours I had to wear them.

CurtainCallClassic · 15/07/2022 21:38

Have gone for a couple of pairs of Fit Flops to choose from, delivered tomorrow. Thank you all, I shall update tomorrow (if you can stand the suspense lol) x

It's too late for Birkenstocks as you need to break them in. Pavers do arch support shoes

Isabelle70 · 16/07/2022 06:38

I have 2 pairs of Vionic slippers as they have arch support and they do sandals and other shoes too so maybe worth a look.
Sorry for your loss.

CurtainCallClassic · 16/07/2022 19:21

I got the Lulu Fit Flops and they're v comfy so will keep them despite the price for non-leather. Thank you all xx

I'm a 7.5 too, but got 8s to be on the safe side. I hope.you find them comfy, and condolences for your loss.
