I need some help! I'm almost 30, mum to a toddler and I think it's time I switched up my clothes a bit.

I live in Joules or Seasalt long sleeve Breton tops, black leggings and Birkenstocks. Skinny jeans and Docs if it's cold, but always the same uniform.

I keep reading here how awful and frumpy these things are. I'd like to ring the changes but how?

I would look at assessing:

  • Body shape: What do you like to show off what do you prefer to disguise what is your body shape and are you more leggy or torso

  • Flattering fashion rules: Read up on what suits your shape and take notes

  • Lifestyle: do you need work clothes do? do you live in a city or the country side? Do you go out a lot? Do you walk a lot?

  • Weather and climate of where you are

  • Colouring: what suits your hair, skin and eyes colour?

  • Budget: How much are you willing to spend?

  • Styles you admire, styles you dislike

Then make a list of outfits as your shopping list and be very specific with neckline, colour etc and then put into google each item's description and see what comes up.
I personally prefer a capsule wardrobe that doesn't need dry cleaning in classic cuts and then add a cheap item or two that is trendy.

Or you could try a personal stylist!
Look at instagram and pinterest see if you like anyone's style who has a body and colouring similar to you for ideas.
