Reformation dress

I have bought this dress. It’s good quality & I like the fit. Says dry clean only but I’m sure it’ll wash ok at 30. My worry is it’s ££ & will it wear well? I have 34DD bust & will need a strapless bra, but I’m abit worried about the tie straps. Has anyone bought from here & can comment if the clothes are good value?

What material is it? It says georgette, but that could be silk or synthetic (very expensive if not 100% silk).
I wash silk using the hand wash programme my machine has, at 20°c, no disasters so far.
What type of yarn is used for the stitching? Sometimes a disparity in the main material and thread used to sew the garment can cause shrinkage at the seams.
If it is not a pull on, by untying the traps, could you tie them and secure by sewing in a few stitches?

You could wear a normal bra with those straps, I would have thought.

It's viscose, which is liable to shrink in the wash. That might be why it's dry clean only.

I've never bought from Reformation but have tried lots of their clothes on in store and wasn't particularly impressed by the quality, I think you're paying for the very flattering cuts and the 'cool girl' brand. The brand is more popular in the US so there are lots of Reddit threads about the quality, I'm sure you could also find something about people's experience with washing their items.

Thank you for that, I love the colour & the print but I’m going to return it.
Its not silk, it is viscose & the straps are deceiving, much thinner in real life. I tried a normal nude bra on & could see the straps.
I’ve looked for a similar style cheaper, but no luck.

It would possibly be cheaper to have something made for you!
