Funeral Dress for Apple Shape

Desperately looking for a formal dress, ideally black, for a funeral in a couple of weeks.

I'm 5 ft 4 and a size 12/14 apple shape - most of my weight is on my stomach, which is capable of looking about 8 months pregnant, and also my boobs. My go to dress shape is (I think!) a shift dress - not sure it really suits me but it skims over most of the problem areas!

Basically I need to look smart and not my usual scruffy self. Don't have unlimited funds but could prob go up to around £100. Does anyone have any ideas please?

Thanks @Greengr !

I have one quite similar to the first (although from M&S) - I like it but it definitely looks a bit sack of potatoes-y and not v smart. There will be lots of older family members there so need to try and limit scruffiness - it's tricky because all the looks I like and think look non-scruffy are slim and tailored, which just won't work!

I like the look of the Phase Eight one though I might order that and give it a go, although not sure the puffy sleeves will be a good look on my puffy arms 🤦🏽‍♀️

This one is 'skimmy' but with a little bit more structure - think it could be quite flattering:

I always think a cocoon shape is flattering, this is a good copy of a very popular Whistles dress, my only reservation would be the length, but with a mid heel shoe it could work.

Try this - looks infinitely nicer than on the model strangely. Am also apple shaped and this is the most flattering dress I own (and I have a lot!!) www.asos.com/prd/22463607?acquisitionsource=pasteboard

Over budget but it has darts so might be a bit smarter and more tailored

This is brilliant ladies, thank you! I've ordered a few to try. I love the first Whistles one but sadly it's only in a size 6 (I wish!), I'm trying the budget busting £119 one though, and also the asos pencil dress and the 'skimmy' (love that) next one.

I'm going to have to be disciplined about returns!

Love that ASOS one @247SylviaPlath - I've ordered it and thankfully, I don't have a funeral to wear it to.
