Fake tan holiday advice needed

sunshinyday80 · 11/07/2022 10:12

Can anyone help me with some advice on the best type of fake tan to use for an upcoming holiday? I usually use skinny tan however I’ve noticed that it fades really quickly (within a day) when I use suncream (P20) and also when swimming. Any advice on fake tan safe suncreams? And should I be considering a spray tan instead or will this just fade straight away from suncream and swimming? Any advice most welcome!

Swimming will always fade a tan quickly - can you re apply when out there? Or use a gradual tanning moisturiser that you can use when there too?

Yes to PP. AFAIK the chlorine in the pool strips it right off. Maybe use the every day gradual tan stuff? St Tropez is supposed to be long lasting (and I’ve always had success).

Use a gradual tanner and take it with you. My favourite is Vita Liberata

I use vita liberata mousse before I go for 3-4 nights and then use their body blur in the evenings before I go out for night - works really well

Thanks for your suggestions. Do you find the gradual tanner keeps a good colour through the day even with plenty of suncream and swimming?

I'm a swimmer, swim at least once a week and I'd say the gradual tanner does better but PP said use the fake tan a couple of days before then top up with gradual when away. I think that is sound advice. However, if you only want one product I'd go with the gradual tanner. My preference is vita liberata.

Does anyone know of any gradual tans that are different to the mainstream ones? I’m fine with fake tan (though have the same issue with fading/stripping quickly) but seem to have an allergic reaction to the gradual tans!
