All my vest tops are wrong!

So with today being so hot I dug out a vest to wear with shorts and just realised every one I have is close fitting, stretchy, shows the outline of my bra and my much lacking boobs as well as my arm pit fat etc etc - big Meh to them all. What can I replace them with that are more current?

I am a petite size 6-8 with small boobs. I just want some casual vest tops that look nice.

I've got some v neck linen blend tank tops that are kind of flared towards the bottom so skim your tummy. They are from GAP and a lovely fit, unfortunately I got it in khaki and grey, and the grey is a bit see through. Still good for in the house though!

Loads of nice colours, really flattering shape, doesn't cling to my belly, nice material, I've gone back and ordered two more.

Mine always gape under my arms. The best ones ibe had yet are from Uniqlo

I spent 5 bloody hours the other week trailing round the city centre to find decent vest tops. No luck at all, got none!! Honestly I'm really not fussy but there's bigger all out there. I've wrecked all mine by wearing them for hair dye, currently wearing an old one that's a bit see through now but fits perfectly.

I second Uniqlo. I love their tops.

M&S have some ribbed cotton ones that have a nice scoop neck shape and look good tucked into high waisted shorts. Thick enough shoulder strap bits to reliably cover bra straps. They were about £6.50 each I have 3.

Yes the! My first arrived this week. Very little availability in my size or I'd order more but so comfy.

They have a "slouch vest" too with a similar cut, bit looser, viscose, about half the price but still v decent.

This is my nirvana too. I found some lovely ones in M&S in relaxed for so they flare out slightly rather than cling.

Ribbed cotton is the way to go, they tend to cling less and don’t show every bump of your bra, tummy or ribcage.

Mine are from Topshop (ancient), La redoute, Petit bateau and &other stories.
My favourite are from Sezane, they’re an expensive option (mine were on sale/pre loved) but I don’t regret it as they feel and look such nice quality.

These are the holy grail IMHO, I have 3 on different colours and wear them non stop. They work as base layers in winter so not just useful for hot weather.

I also have these I bought them for our holiday they sit really nice. Also primark had wide strap vest tops that didn't cling to me I did buy the size up though.

I agree ribbed are best. Others just gape at the side on me. Look awful

I realised during lockdown that tight vest tops just don't flatter me so find loose fit are better and more flattering.

I don’t really wear v necks or show my shoulders but those Next ones look great, that slouchy, slightly oversized look, perfect for tucking in, draping rather than clinging. Very classy.
