Eyebrow tinting at home

Is it possible for a complete rookie to do this at home and do it well? And what are your tips and what kit would you recommend?

Yep! I was that total rookie once! I use the Eylure kit and it’s sooo easy. Good luck!

Thanks

I do my own eyelashes with Eyelure, but I've never been brave enough to try my brows. How do you avoid dying the skin?

evilharpy · 10/07/2022 10:23

I do mine with Eyelure too. It's dead easy. You can use a barrier cream/vaseline round the brow to avoid tinting the skin but I never bother, it seems to come off pretty easily.

Twoshoesnewshoes · 10/07/2022 10:25

Also use Eyelure
definitely easy to do at home.
you can choose how long to leave on for - I do 10 minutes but you could start with just 2 or 3 til you feel confident.
I don’t seem to get it on my skin, there is a narrow mascara type wand in the kit which is quite precise, and it is a thick paste, not runny.
but you can put face cream around your brows to avoid stains.

I've used eyelure too with no issues but I saw on here someone recommended beard dye and am trialling that at the mo. You get more product so it lasts longer.

Hmm interesting. I have very blonde hair and eyebrows. When I have them tinted, they use brown but only leave it on for a very short time. I'm wondering if grey would be better?

babysteps22 · 10/07/2022 11:02

I use eyelure too every couple of weeks. Dead easy. Never bother with Vaseline.

Goldengoosey · 10/07/2022 11:25

I use this. It’s a doddle. I apply it with a cotton bud and then take off any excess round the brown with another clean cotton bud. I use light brown and apply for a few mins, wipe off with damp cotton wool pad and keep reapplying until I’m happy with shade.

I use this to top up inbetween getting them threaded and tinted in the salon so I do have a decent shape to work with which I just follow. It’s only a fiver and as you can see I last ordered it a year ago. It lasts for ages. Good luck x

I use refectocil and it's very easy.
Use a very very tiny brush and shape how you want them to look. The skin can get a little stained underneath but that's actually good as it gives more depth.

Gazelda · 10/07/2022 12:23

I've got extremely pale eyebrows.

I use light brown eyelure and leave it on for 6 mins, which gives me a natural shade. As others have said, I put Vaseline around the area to protect the skin.

I do it about every 4 weeks and a kit lasts me about 6 months.

NorthernSoul55 · 10/07/2022 13:14

I use Schwarzkopf brow dye in the blonde shade, actually comes out a light ashy brown. I'm fair and some of the others are too dark and heavy for me. The kit comes with a little applicator brush but I use an old mascara brush as it covers the hairs better.

Violet790 · 10/07/2022 13:23

I get salon eyebrow tint from the wholesalers. Think it's called professional beauty systems. I bought the mini glass and brush and it's really cheap. 1 tube of tint and 1 developer lasts me a couple of years. Saves a fortune.

TheWristBoundLatexBitch · 10/07/2022 13:24

After seeing a recommendation I now use just for men beard tint. I leave it on for 5 minutes and it lasts well over 6 weeks. I used to use eyeure(?) but I found it to fade after 2 weeks.

bluejelly · 10/07/2022 13:26

Does anyone find eyelash tinting makes their eyelashes fall out quicker? I love the effect it has but it always seems to speed up my eyelash loss and they get a bit sparse for a couple of months

HermioneWeasley · 10/07/2022 14:16

Great tips here, thanks

I'm another convert to beard dye. Totally idiot-proof!

Isabelle70 · 10/07/2022 15:52

I use the refectocil in light brown on my brows, really easy. I am a dark blonde with really light brows normally so the tint is great for defining them.
