Bikini that isn't £50?

I'd like to buy two new bikinis with either a high waist or high leg. Back in the day you bought a bikini (possibly separates from somewhere like Bravissimo) for about £30. Now everywhere seems to sell the tops and bottoms separately at around £25 a piece.

I really don't want to pay £100 for two bikinis.

The other issue with separates is you have to be lucky twice with sizes in the sale.

The supermarkets seem to have sold out. M&S is dire despite having improved of late. I've got two in my basket at Fat Face (£102!!) waiting desperately for the sale to start. Next sale hopeless... all non matching bits left.

Have been looking at Cupshe but reviews about returns are poor.

Any ideas please?

Belle lingerie sells separates and are often reduced in price

Passthecake30 · 09/07/2022 07:20

Pour moi, I’ve got 2 cup sized bikinis at a decent price

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 09/07/2022 07:23

We call tiny things than are really expensive “bikini economics” - bikinis and glasses (spectacles) being the worst offenders.

lt would take a time machine for me to wear a bikini,
but have you looked at Pour Moi?

uggmum · 09/07/2022 07:27

Sainsburys have some really nice bikinis.
High waisted bottoms and a decent supportive top.

Most are sold out on line but my local store had loads last night.

So worth a trip to see what they have got.

Boden have quite a range of bikinis in their sale. I'm not a huge Boden fan but their bikinis are good quality and the bottoms start from £10 in the sale.

Do you need a large cup size. I’m on a mission to buy swimsuits and I’m plus size with an F cup so it’s not that straightforward. I’ve actually found a few things on Amazon. They do actually sell some Cupshe brand on there which hopefully will resolve that returns issue. ( quite a long delivery time though). A lot of other brands on there which are random names but the quality has been ok. Pour Moi were good if you want glamorous but I don’t remember the prices being that cheap.

StarlightLady · 09/07/2022 08:31

I have found Cupshe OK with returns, albeit clunky. With Pour Moi, l have found the quality to be good but their sizing somewhat erratic.

lf you go for plain black, you can mix and match from different sources.

Amazon

I got this one from Next this week, £25 for top and bottom, it’s F&F by Tesco www.next.co.uk/style/st215623/C18411#C18411

Ebay new ones

USaYwHatNow · 09/07/2022 09:10

Tesco were awful back at the beginning of ajune for bikinis, but I went in yesterday and theyve got some really lovely ones.

ZoChan · 09/07/2022 09:18

@FairyCakeSprinkles I bought two cupshe bikinis on Amazon and the returns was super easy and free, just had to take my qr code to the post office and they printed out the returns label. Do it- the bikini is absolutely lovely and makes me feel totally ready for our beach holiday!!!

linenalltheway · 09/07/2022 09:30

Sainsburys swimwear is nice

Anon778833 · 09/07/2022 09:30

How about Vinted? I’ve managed to get some lovely things there for holiday.

Jellyshoeshurtmyfeet · 09/07/2022 09:49

Cupshe on Amazon. You can even get some of them on try before you buy so there is no hassle waiting for money back if you need to return.

MiseryWIthAStent · 09/07/2022 09:56

Vinted!

tigerbear · 09/07/2022 10:03

Agree re Vinted.
I got a 2 piece bikini, new with tags for £6!

SaffyWall · 09/07/2022 10:14

Have you tried Matalan? I've just bought a high-waisted bikini for £17 in total. For the price I'm really impressed with the quality and the fit is pretty spot on too. They still seem to have lots of stock too.

Chocolatecoatedkettlebell · 09/07/2022 12:31

I know you said M&S is dire but have a look for the ribbed high leg high waist bikini bottoms. I’ve just got them and they fit really well and cover enough of my generous behind

FairyCakeSprinkles · 09/07/2022 19:32

Thank you all so much. Some great suggestions. I'll be able to choose some I like in time for my holiday at a reasonable price.

@uggmum, popped to sainsburys this afternoon and you are right. There is stock in store. I bought a bikini for £19. 😀

@IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads, I'm in no way timed and slim but (a) I've been dieting hard so I won't look as bad as I would have done and (b) I'm too old to care anymore anyway.
