Tell me about revolution

I keep seeing snippets about revolution and popped into a huge superdrug (not normally near me) and was overwhelmed with choice! Then there is revolution professional? So much stuff!

i got a soap brow kit which is fun but a bit pointless, also I think there’s some kind of Olaplex style hair bonder which I couldn’t see. Also I can’t remember the Charlotte tilbury base dupe.

anyway, any recommendations welcomed, I am usually a committed maybelline cheap and cheerful type but willing to be led astray.

I saw the same op. I needed a new vit c serum and there was a lot of praise on here for the revolution one so I got it like the sheep I am. Not opened it yet though so my comment is not very useful....

I've had a few bits of their makeup and skincare and have liked it.

Their clear brow gel is excellent and very good value for money.

I like their pineapple gommage face peel as well.

I've had eyeshadow palettes and lipglosses which have also been good value for money.

Their website is great fun for a browse!

GingerFigs · 07/07/2022 09:09

I've used their eye gels and really like them, and they don't cost the earth!

WatermelonSugarSigh · 07/07/2022 09:10

Oh I've had the gold gel under eye patches too and they're nice.

thethoughtfox · 07/07/2022 09:30

They do an underage concealer which is meant to be a great dupe for Tarte Shape Tape ( famously popular with t'internet make up people) They also do a foundation which is meant to be a great dupe for IT Cosmetics CC Cream ( see above)

FunnyTalks · 07/07/2022 10:18

The under eye primer /concealer stick is fab. It broke my touché eclat habit.

I've never made the connection before that the hair products are the same revolution! I've used the little bottles of semi permanent bright coloured hair dye conditioning thingies. Looked incredible but colour stayed on my hair a LOT longer than expected.

Coveredinivy · 07/07/2022 11:31

I love their products. I use the fast base foundation stick and it totally covers my melasma. I've also had the eye palettes, settinh spray, primer, eyebrow pencil, eyeliner, powder and highlighter. I think it's tremendous value for money, it's the first place I look for new make up now.

xogossipgirlxo · 07/07/2022 13:43

I've had mattifying powder - not really great and packaging didn't last long in my hanbad. Maybelline is better for me.
Spray face primer- ok, but I am thinking of buying something more expensive, like urban decay all nighter.
Niacinamide serum- didn't work for me, but niacinamide doesn't work for me in any product, sadly.

I heard concealers are very good though. I will keep trying though, as they are incredibly cheap and some have good reviews.

CamsPaisleyCuffs · 07/07/2022 13:51

@xogossipgirlxo See if you can try the Urban Decay setting spray before you invest. It smells like sneeze. Absolutely gross. I've gone back to Nyx and it's just as good.

@CamsPaisleyCuffs thank you, I will see if I can try it out in store. The constant searching for perfect primer and setting spray never ends. I regret I didn't take a note of what my make up artist used on my wedding day, because it was genuinely the best stuff that kept my face oil-free the whole night.

AbsolutelyNebulous · 07/07/2022 14:57

They have a number of ranges of eyeshadow palettes which have different formulations and prices. They all get pretty good reviews but IMO the best are the Forever Flawless palettes. I have four or five of them and they beat quite a few of my high end eyeshadows hands down. I also have some of the I Heart Chocolate palettes which I’d also recommend, especially the milk, white, dark chocolate and the rose gold.

AnchorWHAT · 07/07/2022 15:05

I am on the waiting list for the pro miracle cream but am impressed by the pro miracle eye cream. Also liking the 20% vitamin c serum.

AnchorWHAT · 07/07/2022 15:06

Oh and the charcoal powder facial scrub, messy but leaves my skin squeaky clean and glowy.

mirrorballer · 07/07/2022 15:18

I love the brightening under eye concealer.
Might try the brow glue as the nyx one is so shit and gloopy and HD is too expensive.

inmyslippers · 07/07/2022 15:20

I like their camouflage concealer and felt tip eyeliner

ChinBristles · 07/07/2022 21:15

I'm going to try their 2% salicylic BHA liquid and see if it gets me off the Paula's Choice one.

meloncolic · 07/07/2022 21:32

God this is amazing, a lot of fans.

i feel like I am so out of the loop that they came out of nowhere.

going to have a nosy again. The eye gel patches sound good.

@WatermelonSugarSigh Which brow gel would you recommend? They seem to have a few?

Just bumping this as I too was bewildered at the offering!
