I’ve cleared my sock drawer and am desperate for some new socks! Ankle and trainer length, please - any recommendations would be much appreciated.

If you can knit I would learn to knit socks. After your firstnpair you will never look back, warm in winter, cool in summer, last for years and can be repaired!

I have loads from BAM - they are very soft and comfy and seem to be wearing well.

Downsides, they are quite thick so a bit warm for summer, and take ages to dry!

Thought socks are lush. Thick, long-lasting cotton and really pretty patterns. I am slowly replacing my whole sock stock with them :)

Thought socks here too. I always get them from tk maxx.

I like Next, Calvin Klein and Thought, though the patterns are a bit much with the latter.

Do you have any patterns you would recommend that would be good for newbies? Love the idea of this but relatively new to knitting!

Bridgedale socks are fantastic. Not cheap but last forever. Can get them in go outdoors etc

Was recommended sock shop on here. Bamboo and soft and don’t dig in /leave marks. Genuinely life changing not having tight crispy supermarket socks. I’ll now be throwing out any that go crisply and getting new ones. It was previously an extravagance getting given new socks for Christmas!

I took a punt on these padded trainer socks from Amazon and loved them so much that I chucked out all my other socks and bought another set. And then I bought white ones for the summer. They’ve lasted really well and are still so comfy.
