Earrings help. How do I put them in?

Morning all,
I bought some new earrings from new look for my holidays but when they have come they have a weird fastening.
I can't work out how to put them in. Tried all different angles but no luck.
Can anyone shed some light?

Small straight section in first horizontally then angle downwards and slide the hoop down and through

I’ve got some like this. You have to get the side without the ring through your hole, so a little tricky as it’s not straight but if you twiddle it goes in. Then with that through you need to hook the ring onto it, so behind your ear. I find mine very fiddly!
