Primark sunglasses

Anyone knows if these are any good ie do they give the proper UV protection and last at least for your fortnight’s holiday? I’m looking for cheap sunglasses for my kids in their holiday including some spares to cover the inevitable losses. Thanks!

In primark on the label it gives you a uva score for each pair. Some are better than others!

Thanks for the tip Xztop!

This exact thing was on one of the consumer shows on telly last year. Can't remember which show I think a blond girl was presenting this section. Basically if sunglasses have a CE mark (primark ones do) they meet the quality requirements in terms of providing eye protection. The show compared a 200£ pair and 1 £pair and concluded that eye protection wise there was no difference.

I bought some last week that had a sticker on saying ‘protection level 3 ‘… but what does that actually mean?!

All sunglasses sold in the UK have to offer a certain level of UV protection. So they’ll be fine from that point of view. Can’t say how long they’ll last though.

Thanks for all this useful information. I’m sure they won’t last brilliantly but the kids are teenagers and tend to lose sunglasses so it’s good to know the budget option can provide decent UV protection.
