What supplements for thinning hair?

Just noticed by parting and I feel it's definitely wider than it used to be. I am 53 so yes, hair is probably thinning. Anything I can do?

HRT is supposed to bring it back, apparently.

PeaceLoveAndCandy · 02/07/2022 09:36

I've been on HRT for 4 years, and the thinning has only got worse!

LosDolses · 02/07/2022 09:39

I have previously used Head High, found them brilliant.

jeaux90 · 02/07/2022 09:43

@Tashface have you had your levels checked? As in a blood test? It maybe your specific HRT isn't quite right for you.

Liquid iron helped mine. Lots of new hair in my hairline.
l didn’t consider myself low in anything - but this helped / Is helping. 🙂

KangarooKenny · 02/07/2022 13:41

I lost hair from the front, was told by a GP to take iron, it never grew back.

I’ve posted before, but here goes again.
My hair was thinning and falling out quite badly, since lockdown I took hair, skin and nail supplements which did help over a long period.
However, I’ve now been taking Collagen for about 3 months and the difference is amazing. There’s very little hair fallout and my hair is definitely thicker.

Phyllis321 · 02/07/2022 14:49

I' e taken biotin for a few years (I'm almost 52) and my hair, skin and nails are pretty good.

BEAM123 · 02/07/2022 14:51

Regaine for women works really well. Some people swear by Plantur 39 too.

Phyllis321 · 02/07/2022 14:52

Oh, and lots of people on here have highly recommended Waterman's shampoo and conditioner to help with volume.

choochooandspook · 02/07/2022 14:56

what collagen do you take

choochooandspook · 02/07/2022 14:57

that was meant for beebumble2

Arnaquer · 02/07/2022 15:11

I've been taking Feel vitamins for a few months and my hair has grown like mad

LaJoconde · 02/07/2022 15:29

@PeaceLoveAndCandy how much testosterone do you take?
i ask as I find three sachets a month was too much for me, and I noticed hair fall if I took the recommended dose (1 sachet every 10 days)
I use half to a third of the dose and still feel the benefit without hair fall.

agapanthus1979 · 02/07/2022 15:46

@Beebumble2 Hi Bumble. What collagen do you take?

KangarooKenny · 02/07/2022 15:51

Are there possible side effects of collagen ? I see it being pushed on TikTok a lot.

Beebumble2 · 02/07/2022 16:57

I take the Superdrug’s AHS Collagen. I did research it, as I’m super cautious and don’t usually take any medication, and as far as I could tell there are no side affects.
