Comfortable boots for work

I've just ordered a pair of these (in the graphite colour) but am now panicking that they were the wrong choice:

Do you think these would go well with e.g. a skater dress and black tights, for work? Or with a pair of jeans plus a nice top? I've never had ankle boots before so this is a little outside my comfort zone, but I need something comfy and smartish.

(I already have Birkenstock sandals and find them really comfy)

Yes I think they're great. I wear Chelsea boots a lot at work (office, smart casual) with everything, including pencil skirt and shirt/jumper (with tights) or wrap dress (even with no tights at times).

That's reassuring - sounds like they're very flexible!
