I want to have 1920s hair. Finger waves. For every day.

I've got very short hair at the moment.

I think when it grows a bit I fancy something 1920s-ish? Side parting, finger waves, could add hair clips or hair bands? For every day, I mean? What do you think? Doable? I'm not great with hair.

When I search 1920s hair it just shows terribly complicated weddingy stuff.

I'm in my 40s and work in a school, if it matters. Not some glam 20-something in a fashionable office in London.

Like Watson's wife in Sherlock had? Maybe?

I think one way to do this is with hair grips, or at least that was the cheap way to do it back in the day. I don't know how to describe it. With damp hair, you twist little sections and put the grip across it to hold it in place. Its a very cute style!

Google ‘marcel wave’

It is cute, isn't it Dudsville!

MrsWooster - YES! Oh thank you. That's what I mean. And if I google 'modern Marcel wave' it gives me just what I was thinking. Perfect.

I think You Tube is your friend - there are tons of videos showing vintage hair tutorials and some of them use very modern tools and products for ease. ( I think the key is practice though… I couldn’t even section my hair evenly when I tried some styles out)
