Squeaky Birkenstocks

I've recently bought a pair of Birkenstock Arizonas in silver leather and although they are fabulously comfy, the squeaking noise they make when I walk is driving me insane! I don't have sweaty feet so that's not the issue. I've been wearing them non-stop in an attempt to wear them in and soften them up but to no avail . Has anyone else experienced this and if so how did you solve it?

I am sure I saw a thread last year which said the same thing and other people had the same experience...or it may have been more of a (sorry) fart sound than a squeak?

I've had a couple of pairs of Arizonas and didn't notice this, but my feet are like the Sahara 🤢 which may be why
