Help, I need the advice of people who know fashion much better than I… I’m invited to a Summer city wedding (in Ireland) with a dress code of “Old Hollywood Glamour”. I’m size 18, so hoping to get something flattering. For online, it has to be deliverable to Ireland. Thank you oh wise ones!

How about doing it mostly with red lip and nails and a curly set hair? Pencil skirt? I imagine this means 40s/50s?

I'd say either a bias cut maxi dress think ghost or a bombshell type nipped in waist
What's the budget?

Dress in plain colour, heels, tights or stockings, red lips, hair in loose waves, pearls/other fine jewellery.

Classic Marilyn Monroe would be the way to go. Red lips, heated roller type curls, diamonds and pearls, Dior New Look silhouette.

The Seamstress of Bloomsbury might be worth a look - some elegant dresses, beautiful blouses, and skirts - could put together a rather glamorous look, with pearls etc as previous poster suggested.

Nancy Mac also has some beautiful things - dresses, duster coats, and gorgeous jumpsuits. www.nancymac.co.uk/

Thank you all for your kind advice. I’m going to go with curls, red lip, pearls and a dress that I found flicking through websites. Feel better now that I’ve it sorted, thanks again.
