Stripping colour from hair

Hi has anyone got any experience of stripping a colour from your hair?
Does it totally ruin it? Does it actually go back to your natural colour?

Yes, I have, are you thinking of using colour remover or bleach?
No it won't reveal your natural colour.
That is gone as soon as you put permanent colour with peroxide/ammonia on it.
With colour removers it generally goes a shade of orange that can be coloured over lighter.
Bleach bathing can lift say, pink or similar colours from light hair.
What colour are you and what's on your hair now?

Darker, not lighter doh

It's brown or at least meant to be but as I dye it so infrequently it's just a mess now

I used this recently. The ends which were darker went orange. I was told colour removers break your hair but this doesn't contain harmful chemicals.
