Summer clothing

Do you make a conscious decision to stop buying summer clothing at a certain point in the season given we don't have much longer of the season left to wear it?

No I buy what I need when I need it

The majority of my summer clothes are suitable for wearing from about March until November with the addition of layers i.e. skirts with tights vs bare legs, tops with a cardigan or shirt over when it's colder and so on. So with that in mind, not specifically but I do consider that aspect when I buy something and only have a few things that are very definitely hot weather wear only. I don't do beach holidays so have no need for anything like that.

Yes, at the weekend I decided no
more summer clothes buying for me this year. I have about 10 really good summer outfits and at least 10 other ok ones plus I can do some mix and matching if I get bored.

No, if I see something I like I buy it and wear it next year. I prefer to buy things that really suit me and will last a few years, rather than buy for fashions/seasons

Once I've been on my summer holidays. If I have enough clothes to see me through a week or two away then I don't need any more for the rest of the season. Plus, in Scotland, so the weather isn't alway the greatest...

No because the weather is getting hotter and more erratic, I might be in summer clothes to mid October, plus I like wearing a coat with light clothes underneath or just chuck a cardi or jacket on as I can get too hot indoors. What I do make a conscious choice about is buying the best quality I can afford in natural fabrics and in colours that suit me and go with the rest of my wardrobe so everything pretty much can be mixed, matched and layered easily.

Hmm, I was mulling this over just recently.

I tend to wear fairly classic clothes and
I’ve never bought clothes for summer holidays specifically, as if I find something I like then I wouldn’t want to be limited to wearing it only 2 weeks a year! However, I’m still in the market for the perfect summer bag and sandals so will pounce if find them, otherwise I’ll just carry on with what I already have. I also ordered a couple of shirt dresses in the Sezane sale at the weekend, on the expectation that I would get lots of use out of them if they fit well.

But other than that I have plenty, and the realisation is that my clothes funds are probably better put towards a new winter coat, boots and bag. So no more summer buys for me now!
