Runny Eyes

I have had runny eyes for some time now. It's not related to hay fever and according to an optician he tells me that the drainage channels from my eyes are a little narrowed. He likened them to drinking straws when they have gone a bit flat.

Does anyone else suffer this and have they found any products that help? I've tried all sorts of hypo allergenic eye make up removers, just use mascara and don't really want to stop using it. My eyes always look like I'm on the verge of tears. I've tried Blephasol but that doesn't appear to do anything.

I have the same thing, water leaks out of the corners of my eyes, and through the eyelids. Absolutely hate it. It ruins my make up, and actually prevents me from going out for walks, as the slightest breeze sets them off. I've had the tear ducts syringed twice, which was very unpleasant. I now have reoccurring sinus infections which apparently may be connected to the blocked tear ducts. Gp said he will refer me to ENT as there is a surgical procedure to sort it out. Good luck. X

I'm not sure I fancy surgery on my eyes. Probably the only area I feel a bit squeamish about. But hope you have luck sorting your sinuses out.

You only have two eyes! So, without being offensive, why don't you go to an ophthalmologist? I'm not sure an optician's the right person to diagnose you. One appointment with an expert will also likely be cheaper in the long run than trying many simple and cheap hacks.

BTW forgot to say I had the same problem and I started taking 1 Benadryl a day and it solved my problem. I took the Cetirizine one that lasts for 12h, the others didn't work for me. That was my experience though and the origin of my problem might not be the same as yours, so what worked for me might not work for you! Honestly, go to a pro. My cousins XDH spent years having headaches and being told to wear glasses, saw a pro who told him he needed drops because his eyes weren't producing tears -years of hassle solved by going to the right person.
