Right people, I need help!

I'm off to a wedding soon and in need of a new dress. I've seen two dresses on Bloomchic which are perfect but after asking in here and reading reviews it seems they're a Shein type operation.
So, I need help finding something similar. The green dress in particular is perfect for me - green suits me, that fit suits me, it can be dressed up or down so will wear again.
Can you help me find similar but decent quality please 🙏 Budget up to maybe £150

Have you looked on ASOS? I often find similar things on there which I've seen elsewhere. Have you tried a Google image search also? Hope you find it :)

This looks similar -

This is £59 and very flattering

@CassTheFox I like the coast one in style but the colours seem a little insipid. I look far better with a slightly stronger colour. Also, i may be too fat for Coast Blush I'm an 18 so on theory I can shop there but they're definitely not designed for boobs and bellies

@Caminante that colour is perfect for me. I'm not sure how it would look on a short size 18 though? It feels like i might look like I'm wearing a nightdress!

I'm a 12-14 and very short indeed and somehow it works 😂

Like I said, very flattering, especially around the boobs and somehow gives me a waist. Definitely worth trying on!

Ooh interesting, I'm 5'3 do you think its doable? I do love the colour of it!

If you do please update 😊

Buy that dress, buy the material that you would prefer it in, colour, fabric, etc and then take it to a dressmaker.
She could disassemble it and use it as the pattern.
We have a local seamstress/haberdasher in our small market town and I have done this lots, with very good results.

I’d have a look on Never Fully Dressed, they have lots of lovely dresses.
also look on Vinted for brands you like but are over your budget to buy direct from the shops - there are often loads of new with tags, or worn once wedding/occasion outfits on there for a fraction of the usual price. There’s loads of Coast / Whistles / Jigsaw / Monsoon / Maxmara / Gerard Darel etc

This is a skirt and top option but looks like a dress:

Morning all - we've nipped in and edited the thread title as the original had received a few reports. Thanks all.

Caminante · 21/06/2022 13:44

Scratching my head to think what the original title was now.
