What's the best way to exfoliate regularly?

By best I mean one that makes a difference, is fairy quick and easy so there's an outside chance I'll actually do it and not too expensive. For face and body?

Dry loofah mitt or dry body brush.

I saw a programme about treatment for cellulite, the group that did the dry body brushing had reduced their cellulite the most, after however many weeks they did it, compared to creams/scrubs etc so it is really effective

I use the Bravura exfoliating cloth for my face and love it. Very effective so less is more. I wet it and wring it out; one or two swipes over the face and then pop in the wash. I probably use it twice a week. Ridiculously easy and cheap too. Purchased from a recommendation on here.

Sanctuary used to do some inshower stuff that lightly exfoliated and smelt like watermelon but they seem to only do their wet skin moisture miracle now. If they ever bring it back grab some of that. It's so easy.

An acid toner.

Remembertotakeabreak · 19/06/2022 19:42

St Ives scrub in the shower for face.

TheWeeDonkey · 19/06/2022 19:46

I wash with those exfoliating gloves in the shower and use a flannel for my face and that is usually plenty for me

kirkandpetal · 19/06/2022 19:52

I have a sponge that is half sponge with a scrubby top layer. Pack of three in Home bargains for very little pennies. Just using that almost daily with shower gel works for me. Exfoliation and cleaning at the same time. Occasionally I might use a body scrub for a deep exfoliation.

I find the best thing afterwards to to apply aveeno lotion. That totally stops any bumpy skin on upper arms if that's a concern. M not great at remembering to do that, but will try to donut at least twice a week.

They still do it, it's just harder to find for some reason. On Amazon too

Just before you get in the shower: put a bit of bicarbonate of soda and a splodge of cleanser (or any sort of face product you want to use up) in your hand. Mix together into a paste and scrub all over your face. Step into shower and rinse off.

Rest of body: no idea 😂

Korean Italy Exfoliating Wash Cloths for your body, not for your face.

KangarooKenny · 19/06/2022 21:51

Ive noticed my skin is softer since having Epsom salt baths.

Buttercup72 · 19/06/2022 22:43

I use a muslin cloth, really clears the skin without being too abrasive for my dry sensitive skin.

Startuplife · 19/06/2022 22:58

Agree with the Korean Italy cloths, the first time you use them your skin will peel off! I use them every day with my shower gel and have very soft skin. I also use glycolic acid on the spotty tops of my arms which works extremely well.

And please please don’t use St Ives on your face. It’s way too abrasive. An AHA like lactic acid a couple of times a week is much better and long term will build firmer skin with less fine lines.

RevoltingHumanHead · 19/06/2022 23:02

I use a salux cloth daily in the shower and that sorts my body.

I use a flannel when washing my face in the evening and an acid toner once a week. That sorts my face.

catfunk · 19/06/2022 23:10

Korea Italy mitt but the large black ones from Amazon - they're more abrasive than the green ones so you don't need a long soak first - work fine in the shower.
Face - glycolic acid pads from Superdrug but I'm using tretonin at the moment so none needed

That Sanctuary stuff was £3.99 in TK Maxx yesterday, now wishing I'd got it!

thefamilyupstairs · 19/06/2022 23:18

A tsp of granulated sugar in my face wash twice a week works really well on my face.
