Colour stripper before highlights?

I'm getting lilac/brown/pinky type highlights done in my hair on Tuesday (first ever time getting highlights although I've had full colour done before in a salon)

I've got the remnants of old box dye in about the last third of my shoulder length hair. The rest of it has grey streaks and is medium brown. The hairdresser saw it briefly down but didn't comment on the colour she was looking mainly at the length and thickness.

I'm worried that the highlights will look awful with this chunk of reddy brown box dye mixed in and am wondering now if I should colour strip it tomorrow (I have a box of Colourless bought from Boots a few months ago when I was going to go back to basics and see what it looked like without any colour). I'm not sure if the highlights will 'take' over the box dye (I'm not very well versed on colour technology if it isn't obvious I usually just bung whatever I can find in boots on my head that takes my fancy but the time has come to start actually investing in people trained to do this!)

I can't ring the salon as it will be closed on Sunday and calling on Monday will be too late really as I don't think I should be doing it within 24 hours of the appointment so it's tomorrow or never really. I'm worried I'm going to get to the appointment and she'll spot the box dye and the process will become far lengthier and more expensive than anticipated or the highlights will be applied and it'll just be shit and I haven't done anything to my hair for literally about 2 years and I need to feel pretty!

Pictures of my hair (best I could do sorry) and the colour of the highlights we're going for. I'm aware it's a bayalage style in the photo but we're not doing that this time just full head of highlights but the colour mix is what we've been discussing

Also possibly worth mentioning that I'll be getting a trim and once it's trimmed it'll spring up t and be far more wavy/curly it's just been scraped back for about three days, has zero product in it and not been cut for 2 years! So the highlights/grey will be more 'mixed in' as the hair curls and waves. So possibly I'm worrying over nothing?!

Arrrrgh help!
